@Orangebloodsatx @WreckEmPossum Then it's not a hard-lined stance on betting on your team, yes the longhorns as a whole count as your team is a permanent ban. He bet on his team, he should be banned, he wasn't, they found a compromise. They could have done it with sorsby, they didn't, we are here

@Marscelllo1 @WreckEmPossum Did you miss where our guy (who may or may not even be on the team still) was ruled ineligible? He just followed the rules on how to actually get reinstated. There’s a reason why yall are hated right now champ. There is no “gotcha” to excuse what your school has done.

@Orangebloodsatx @WreckEmPossum Got it so 51 NCAA violations is the cut off, and it's okay to bet on your school but not your team. Glad we have a "hard-line" for this now. All good guys orangebloodsatx has got it from here. Open and shut case, pack it up

@WreckEmPossum No one is arguing is you make any bet, you’re banned for life. They’re arguing if you were so deeply rooted in gambling culture that you bet on and against your own team, that you should be banned. At the very least, suspended for more than 2 cupcake games…

Crazy thing is that Tech isn’t even good enough to win a national championship this year. The scandal shouldn’t even be worth the headache.

@tulsadawgs @Orangebloodsatx @_bigounce Neither did Tech, sorsby went to court not Tech. I'm neither, if he was announced ineligible to play I would really not care. It's just a game that I have no bets in, literally and figuratively. But it states "teams" it's not just about Georgia but you missed that didn't you

@Marscelllo1 @Orangebloodsatx @_bigounce Explain to me how him being allowed to play is a UGA issue. UGA didn’t go to court to keep him on the team. If you’re too bias or dense to understand the difference…that’s a you problem.

Teams won’t say “I don’t want to play Georgia” … But will boycott TTU for a ruling they didn’t decide. Hypocrisy

@footballguy214 @Doc_Texas And you can do the well it's not his sport, but they do interact with other student athletes on a regular basis so you could use that excuse for other schools but anyone betting on their school should be banned as tampering would be childs play.

@Marscelllo1 @Doc_Texas The rule is betting on your sport gets you a permanent ban. Betting on other sports at your school has other penalties but not permanent bans. Last thing I’ll say because you’re exhibiting bot behavior by not understanding the difference between your sport and other sports

@footballguy214 @Doc_Texas Except it doesn't as has been proven with the Texas article I've linked. They bet on the Texas longhorns (their team, not their sport) and were allowed to keep playing. Betting is betting until it's your team huh?

@TortillaMafia @RedditCFB Indiana and Cincinnati did not play a player who had been caught gambling. They may have had suspicions, but he had not been identified as a gambler by the NCAA. Tech on the other hand, knows they have a degenerate gambler who bet on his own team.

This is the correct approach. You can’t allow the sport to continue with a school willing to field players who are placing wagers on their own team. Texas Tech must face consequences, or whatever is left of the sport is truly dead.
Ross Dellenger@RossDellenger

Big 12 ADs tell @YahooSports they’ve had “serious” talks on not playing Texas Tech. One SEC AD says there should be conversations about not playing Tech “in any sports.” The Brendan Sorsby ruling has left an industry jarred. “It’s total f***** bullshit.” bit.ly/4uWicN7

@chxnluh @_bigounce If you do even a slight amount of critical thinking, it's not just about Georgia. They're just using Georgia as a simple example for the actually morally corrupt system. I know, thinking about something beyond the presented material is difficult

@Marscelllo1 @MattGlenesk @MattHayesCFB CFP is different from the ncaa and conferences. They don’t have to rank you. It’s an invitational you are not entitled to be in the playoffs or to even be ranked. They could give 2 G6’s the other 2 autobids for top 5 highest ranked conference champs just like last year

There’s nothing left but one final, influential swing from the CFP. Ban Texas Tech from the playoff if it plays Brendan Sorsby. The CFP's gangster move to save competitive sports, writes @MattHayesCFB. LINK IN REPLIES.

@40AcresBuilt @aggievillevoice Texas on what integrity is, is a left field take. Here let us push A&M out because of our own network that gets them but no one else more money, here let's leave the b12 for more money, here let's poach a coach as soon as he gains relevance just to fire him for fighting his gf

Almost nobody hates Texas Tech, people hate Brendan Sorsby and what is happening to the sport. However, a lot of that hate gets directed at Tech and their fans because they try to defend Sorsby’s actions.

@guitarm3dic387 @justderington @two3oh2 @usatodaysports They had 50 NCAA violations and bet on their own team (longhorns). If the NCAA is as hard-lined as people say they should have both been permanently banned, John mateer was cleared with just Oklahoma doing an internal investigation.

The NCAA couldn’t stop Brendan Sorsby. A judge reinstated the Texas Tech QB despite his gambling scandal. Now the College Football Playoff might be the last group with the power to draw the line. It should immediately declare the Red Raiders ineligible for the CFP, columnist Matt Hayes writes. tinyurl.com/3cf7t4r2 📸 James Gilbert, Getty Images

@UT4x_champs You'd think someone from a school that has one of the best law schools in the nation would know that the court of law is just a tad bit higher than the NCAA. It literally does matter, and they have no right, sorsby sued the NCAA, not Tech.

The NCAA ruled Texas Tech permanently ineligible. Texas Tech appealed and the NCAA uphold their decision. Sorsby is still ineligible. Texas Tech is a member of the NCAA. It doesn’t matter what a judge says. The NCAA has every right to punish Tech. Don’t let this story go away.
