And we’re not waiting to get started. This year, we’re lowering speed limits at 800 additional locations to 15 MPH, bringing the citywide total for School Slow Zones to nearly 1,300 by the close of 2026.

this is the story of Shlomo Yehuda Rechnitz, founder of TwinMed and Brius Healthcare.
Born in 1971 to a devout family, Shlomo attended Mesivta of Long Beach and studied at Mir Yeshiva in Jerusalem, where his deep faith and commitment to chesed took root.
In 1998, he co-founded TwinMed with his twin brother Steve, revolutionizing medical supplies through bulk purchasing and growing it into a major U.S. supplier for nursing homes.
In 2004, he entered skilled nursing by acquiring a small facility, eventually building Brius into California’s largest network of nursing homes through relentless focus on quality care and integrity.
His success created immense wealth estimated in billions yet he sees it as a divine gift to be shared.
Shlomo’s philanthropy is legendary for its scale and humility. He gives anonymously and personally, guided by: “When someone is in need, you don’t ask questions—you act.”
In 2015, he bought hot meals for 400 stranded U.S. soldiers at an Irish airport, simply to honor their service.
Every Purim, he personally distributes over $5 million in one day to families, yeshivas, and charities—handing out checks himself. In one moving encounter, he paid off a struggling father’s entire debt, giving his family a fresh start!
His giving extends globally: millions for Passover aid in Israel, protective gear for IDF soldiers, and support for yeshivas worldwide to strengthen Torah education.

Please point us to where the "poor" post-storm cleanup was. As far as we know, @NYCSanitation generally did a good job. If you know of a problem location, please let us know. Otherwise, please stop maligning the hard-working sanitation workers for some cheap clicks.

🥶 THIS IS RIDICULOUS: Police are out in full force today in Boro Park handing out meter tickets, even where drivers have nowhere else to park because of blocked spaces and poor post-storm cleanup. Many are asking the same question: Where is the follow-through, because right now it feels like the @NYCMayor got his photo ops - and the neighborhood is left stuck with the cleanup. @NYCSanitation @NYPDnews @NYC_DOT @NYCMayorsOffice @BrooklynCB12 @SimchaFelderNY @SEichenstein

As of 8:37 PM, Brooklyn Chaveirim broke its all-time record for the most calls handled in a single day surpassing the previous record of 735 calls, set on September 29, 2023 during the severe flooding that impacted hundreds of basements.
Our dedicated members are out in the freezing cold helping the community.
We are now at 735 calls and still counting, in addition to 611 calls yesterday, all covered in below freezing temperatures. 💪
