I owe my career to Sharif University. And many more successful Iranians in Silicon Valley owe it to this university paid fully by Iranian people’s tax and oil money. Today the illegal terrorist Israeli regime bombed my university, after a week of bombing other major universities in Iran. Take away what you want from this, but as I always said Israel is a stain on humanity. One day, from river to the sea, Palestine will be free and so will the whole Middle East, and US as well.
Congresswoman Yassamin Ansari@RepYassAnsari

Sharif University is Iran’s MIT. They’ve produced a huge number of engineers who’ve gone on to Silicon Valley and founded some of the most successful American tech companies. Why are we bombing a university in a city of 10 million people?

@ksadjadpour @JoshKraushaar Dumbest fucking thing I’ve ever heard. You’re that dense that you only see what Trump has destroyed. You’re not even trying to squint to find potential good. You disingenuous cunt/hack. Go fuck off.

14 Wars, like revolutions, are judged by the political orders they build, not by what they destroy. Trump is measuring this war by what he has destroyed. History will judge it by its lasting impact on Iran, the Middle East, and the broader global order.

1 The defining deliberations of this war aren't between the US and Iran, but Trump and himself. He’s vacillated between walking away and promising to bomb Iran to the Stone Age. Iran has been consistent: Its ideology is resistance, its strategy is chaos, its endgame is survival.

@RockChartrand @SenWarren They overlook the tax loopholes that jurisdictions handed out like candy in trying to be the chosen site by Amazon to build. Jobs and local tax revenue created - then they play the other side and pile on, when they’re the same ppl that gave away the tax incentives.

Jeff Bezos having wealth doesn’t mean there’s a pile of cash sitting there waiting to be spent. Elizabeth Warren is taking a one-time snapshot of Jeff Bezos’s net worth and pretending it’s a permanent funding source. But a wealth tax is annual. That means forcing ongoing liquidation of assets that actually produce the value. And before even getting there, the obvious question gets ignored: If the government is already taking in trillions every year, where is it all going? You don’t jump to “we need more” without explaining why what’s already been taken isn’t enough. If your argument depends on treating wealth like income and skipping over existing spending, you’re not solving a problem, you’re just expanding a system that can’t justify itself.

Jeff Bezos has $222 billion. If he paid my wealth tax this year, we could fund insulin in America for everyone who needs it plus free school lunch for every kid in Texas—and have plenty of money left over. And Bezos would still have $215 billion dollars to spare.

We’re being told this country is broken beyond repair. And then this happens. An American Olympic gold medalist, bloodied and grinning, wrapped in the Stars and Stripes, after decades of waiting, sacrifice, and belief, reminding the world what it looks like when America rises again. 🇺🇸 Two kids on a quiet sidewalk, watching Artemis II tear through the sky, like history reaching forward and backward at once, reminding us we are still the nation that dares to go farther. 🚀 And an American Air Force colonel, shot down over enemy territory, alone in the mountains of Iran for 48 hours, hunted, wounded, waiting, And America came for him anyway. Through the dark. Through the risk. Through the fire. Because we don’t leave our own. Same year. Same country. Not spin. Not noise. This is real. They can keep selling division. They can keep feeding the noise. But this? This is different. This is who we are when it matters. Not perfect. Not polished. But still capable of courage. Still capable of wonder. Still capable of loyalty. The darkness is loud right now. But the light? The light doesn’t ask permission. It just shows up. GOD BLESS AMERICA 🇺🇸❤️ HAPPY EASTER 💜

Apple sealed water inside the iPhone 17 Pro. It's called a vapor chamber. Held at partial vacuum, the water boils well below 100°C. That's the design. When the A19 Pro heats up, the water vaporizes, spreads across a 40mm copper envelope, condenses, and wicks back through copper powder that was sintered at 900°C in hydrogen (to form the pore structure). There's no pump or fan. Apple implemented the same phase-change principle that runs a nuclear reactor in a copper sheet thinner than a credit card. Samsung already shipped this in 2019. Apple waited six years. A sealed vacuum with water and porous copper has to survive drops, temperature extremes, and five years of daily use without a single leak. One leak and the cycle dies permanently. Apple needs 80 to 100 million of these per year. Three suppliers make them, all in Taiwan and China.

@DrDiGiorgio The worst this with of all this bloated staffing is that even when they purge it, we’re fucked. What happens when millions of full time employees doing low level work for comfortable salaries lose said comfortable salaries? What happens to the economy?

This is a really bad thing. These jobs in healthcare aren’t nurses or doctors. They’re middle managers, billing specialists, and people whose sole job is to extract the maximum amount of government dollars for large hospital systems. They don’t make care better. In fact, they make it much worse. They harass the frontline workers, physicians and nurses, driving them to early exits from clinical medicine. They consider patients nothing more than widgets. Worst of all, they make your cost of healthcare higher. They are so parasitic that they consume all non-healthcare jobs. Employers can’t hire more workers and companies can’t expand because these parasites just destroy wealth. This trend is a bigger threat to America than anything else.

@micyoung75 Can we remove the gender and skin color out of the equation and talk about it they were set to get promotions based on performance and merit? Or were they getting promotions just to get promotions because it was “their turn” or some bullshit like that? Why is nobody asking this?

This is the part that keeps getting buried under the raw numbers. Hegseth spent months pressuring Army Secretary Dan Driscoll to remove four decorated colonels from the one-star promotion list. Two Black men. Two women. Driscoll refused, because their records demanded it. So Hegseth pulled their names himself… which legal experts say he likely had no authority to do. The defense secretary is supposed to approve or reject the entire list, precisely to prevent this kind of targeted discrimination. Then Army Chief of Staff Gen. Randy George - the Army’s top officer - asked to meet with Hegseth to discuss the blocked promotions. Hegseth refused to meet. Refused to discuss his decisions at all. Then he fired George. Whose term wasn’t supposed to end until September 2027. Nine U.S. officials across all four branches confirmed the NBC reporting. “There is not a single service that has been immune,” one said. The officers’ attributes being cited for removal include past support for Covid vaccine mandates… and association with Mark Milley. The Pentagon’s response to every outlet that asked: “fake news.” They didn’t dispute a single name.

The idea of deliberately targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure that will cause millions of deaths strikes me as irredeemably evil, especially considering that we acknowledge this is a tyrannical, rogue state that doesn’t represent the will of the Iranian people. And if I was an officer in the military I would refuse to obey any orders to deliberately target civilians and civilian infrastructure. You might not remember, but we fought a war once to save civilization from monsters. And we put the monsters on trial for following orders like these.

Does anyone think this is the appropriate way for the President of the United States to behave? Threatening to commit crimes against the people of Iran? Openly promising to target non-military targets? How is that different than terrorism? What has happened to our country?

@M3diaenjoyer @b_meggitt52 @mkhoops2 No, after we got Cade, thats just "building a team around a developing franchise player" We weren't trying to deliberately lose, but losing is expected because you have a young inexperienced player you're building around (not to mention he got injured).

@M3diaenjoyer @airballdan @b_meggitt52 @mkhoops2 No, this stuff you’re mentioning wasn’t tanking. It was ridding the franchise of bad players and contracts and positioning the future to not be fucked by the likes of Blake long term deal or Brandon Jennings or whatever awful contracts they were sitting on. Pistons never tanked.

@airballdan @b_meggitt52 @mkhoops2 No we did not. We were very obviously tanking. It was not just Blake who left. We traded or let walk all of our talent in exchange for cap space and draft capital. We excessively sat guys and elongated their injuries for the next 2 seasons. They were not trying to win.
