India’s widespread, non-violence philosophy of Ahimsa means that culling dogs or removing feeding stations entirely could cause public outrage. However, reducing the number of feeding stations might be palatable. To be effective, this must be paired with major improvements in waste collection and processing, and with vaccination and neutering programmes.
