As a former paratrooper, if I had the chance to jump into Kharg Island without corps support or ships behind me, I would pass. There is NO SUPPORT coming from the mainland to cover them if that is the target. patriots cant shoot that far AH64s can't fly that far little birds can't fly that far Reapers are easy to shoot down ATACMs are too big to go after most targets we have NO ships there Any Gulf state ships do not have modern air defense.

UK prepares coalition in the Strait of Hormuz The United Kingdom plans to lead an international coalition to restore shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. The plan is being developed with France, but it will not work without U.S. support. According to media reports, civilian vessels may be used to locate and neutralize Iranian mines. These ships would be equipped with remote and autonomous drones for demining operations. London is also considering refitting military ships for such missions. According to U.S. estimates, Iran may have deployed up to 12 mines in the strait.

IF we are going to do this we need to start moving the 82nd.. not a brigade, the whole fucking division. the XVIII AIRBORNE corps support units, 10 mountain division, the entire div. the 2nd marine brigade III corps support 1st CAV or other 3 brigade heavy division 1 brigade of the 101st the aviation brigade of the 101st 1 national guard motorized brigade army reserve support brigade supporting SF group, and ranger battalion if we want to get ready to win, we need AT LEAST this much ground force.. then we need to have a mirror force in the US prepping to replace this force in under 1 year so we already have a rotation ready to go if losses go up or this lasts again if we are going to do this we at least need a force on the ground that is a real threat.
