I am convinced that many people (like here) who criticize LTV have never read Marx. It explicitly has nothing to do with morality. And all of vol 2 and 3 can be read with no reference to LTV because under capitalism prices/values take the form of prices of production (which are identical to Marshall's long-term prices) and LTV remains totally in the background. Hence, even if one rejects Marx's LTV, his work on balanced growth, economic crises. possible under-consumption etc. remains valid. Or can be discussed on its own merits which have nothing to do w/ LTV.

This. Marx’s Labor Theory of Value is a hot mess. I don’t think it’s even an economic theory technically speaking. It’s an overstated moral critique that was only superficially plausible at the dawn of the Industrial Revolution.

@BrankoMilan @PatriotPlatenik This was helpful, but you’ve missed where Marx gets an assist from Wittgenstein, Feyerabend, & Kuhn. Falsification is not a reliable criteria for empirical truth & we have species of proposition other than the empirical which can be shown to be true & require no leaps of faith.

The most compelling critique of Marxism is simply that its analysis of capitalism largely fails once the labor theory of value is (correctly) abandoned. That’s not to say that *nothing* remains, but its core doesn’t.

I asked militiamen who attended Monday’s Second Amendment rally armed in Richmond, Virginia how they feel about the shooting of Alex Pretti yesterday in Minneapolis by federal agents and the administration’s response. This militia has identified as preppers since 2024, but recently wore “Boogaloo” attire for the first time since 2023, which symbolizes armed domestic conflict.

VIDEO THREAD: Armed gun rights activists rallied at the Virginia State Capitol on Monday to protest proposed gun measures under new Democratic Governor Abigail Spanberger. @RosesPaintedRed @FordFischer The term was adopted by a pretty wide swath of the political spectrum. Right, left, anarchist, authoritarian, you name it. It got pinned on the auth-right because they’re the easiest to paint as villains, for obvious reasons. Everyone else shied away to avoid the association.
