My mom got mad when I told her I would rather live on my own that keep paying her $600 a month in rent. I'm 25 years old and have been paying $60 a week in rent to my parents for a while now. I recently landed a decent paying job and this morning, I received a message from my mom telling me that from now on, the rent would be $150 per week. I text her back, saying I would rather live elsewhere. I pay for my own food and I'm not willing to pay $150 per week just for a room to sleep in at my own mothers house. With that kind if money, I could rent a small apartment or even split the rent with a friend for less.

New York is about to do a huge payoff to the teachers union, letting them retire at age 55 (instead of 62) and lowering their contribution rate from 4.5% to 3.5%. This sweetheart deal will cost New York $1.5 billion. Meanwhile, taxpayers are fleeing New York for other states with lower taxes.

@hkuppy 80% of the energy coming out of the SOH goes to Asia. North America is a net exporter. Thus, North America would arguably benefit from Kharg island being blown up (>90% of the oil leaving Kharg goes to China) and/or their being a $1 per barrel toll to go through the SOH.

According to the New York Times, citing two Pentagon officials, the U.S. plans to increase the amount of A-10 Warthog ground attack aircraft deployed to the Middle East. Per the report 18 additional aircraft will be sent to the Middle East in addition to the 12 already operating in the battlespace.

@sentdefender The Warthog is an excellent choice for ship defense in the area given it's ability to loiter and take down multiple targets: drone and attack boat swarms, etc.
