Vote No on Propositions G and N. The City will likely point out that many other Texas cities handle vacancies and court appointments this way. That doesn’t automatically make it the right choice for Euless. On Proposition G (short-term Council vacancies): Allowing the Council to appoint someone to fill a vacancy when less than 12 months remain in the term makes it much harder for challengers to run against that person. The appointee can campaign with the built-in advantage of “the Council chose me keep me in office.” More importantly, the Council will almost always select someone who already aligns with their views, rather than the best person for Euless residents. On Proposition N (municipal court judges): This one’s especially interesting and always brings cute moments council meetings. Under the change, the City Council would appoint the municipal judge (and the City Manager would appoint the court clerk), aligning with current state law and practice. In reality, though, these judges often operate independently once on the bench. Many show little concern for pleasing the Council and frequently refuse to strictly enforce city ordinances including ones that were already on the books before their appointment. That can lead to frustrating situations where the Council publicly complains about the judge’s rulings. It opens the door for some entertaining moments at the dais when someone asks, “Who appointed this judge again?” creating an awkward spotlight on the Council. You might get a few good chuckles out of it, but it highlights the potential for ongoing tension without real accountability. Also the council will never vote out the guy or girl no matter what they do.

No one should ever drink airplane coffee. I’m amazed pilots will touch the stuff. I know any mechanic who has worked on the potable water system or has had to do the disinfection would never touch it. The ozone cleaning system (device used on the ground) is a bunch of crap as well.

@oeingoboeing Be that as it may 🙄this is not a criticism of the pilot, it's a criticism of American Airlines coffee. You probably just misunderstood it. It's 100% true that crew have been buying coffee in the terminal for years to avoid it, and this is bad for the operation.

@dtlogic1 @davidshepardson @WhiteHouse The problem with it is when a CRJ or 145 is used instead of a Caravan or that new cute little Italian twin (engine plane.) It has been abused by the majors with their regional partners. It needs to go back to smaller planes which will also help smaller operators.

There have been lots of suggestions the SFO parallel approach thing is just construction related & will end. It is not. The two things are unrelated. The parallel approach ban is “permanent”.

@OnDisasters Yes. It’s going to be a big problem. The parallel visuals were not unsafe. I loved flying them. I imagine airlines & maybe even the airport will fight this.

The rumor I shared last night is confirmed. No more parallel visual approaches into SFO when visibility is good. Buckle up, folks. This is going to be a real mess.

The uniformed Secret Service is also very rude around the White House. They closed the park in front of the White House in December when I was in it, as it was open at the time. They came out screaming at us to move and threatening to arrest us. I had no idea what was going on and didn’t realize she was yelling at me. I had a video but I just deleted it. It was of a female Secret Service uniformed agent carrying a long gun yelling at a bunch of tourists, all while another agent five feet from me was yelling at me, which I didn’t notice. I understand them closing the parks but at least put signs up or be polite if you’re closing it unannounced. There is so much yelling and crazies in DC that you never know if someone is yelling at you. That said, when I lived in DC they had the double fence (small real fence and waist-high barrier) around the White House. Now they have the tall fence that looks much better and you can get much closer.

For those who have not been to DC in the last couple months, Trump has about a 10 city block area around the White House fenced off 3 public parks are fenced off. President's Park and The Ellipse fenced off for no discernible reason. Lexington Square has been turned into a dump

Greetings from my happy place. I’m listening to WASHINGTON CENTER on the Radio Shack PRO-107. I love this radio, it’s very sensitive on airband, only takes two AA batteries, and it has an internal database of every airport and ARTCC in the country via a SD card and the Radio Reference website. 😎✈️📻🤓
