EV drivers who charge at home...Do you plug in every night or only when you're low?

And they’re right… when I drove my 3, Y, and X 400mi I would have to leave at 100%, charge after 80 miles to make sure I made the open desert, charge at the half way point, charge once I was out of the desert, then charge one more time at my destination if I wanted to do anything. Tesla’s “300mi range” was turning into 180-200 at highway speeds. So… yeah range is a huge comparison pretty much everyone looks forward to.

@Teslaconomics If it looked anything like this it would sell just as well as the Cybertruck (the worst selling vehicle in Teslas history).

I think people have been asking for this. The only ones not asking for 400+mi packs are Tesla fanboys who will constantly give every excuse in the world why someone should never want 400+ real world miles, but if Tesla did roll it out they would cheer. Every time I do a 400mi road trip from CA to AZ I have to leave at 100%, charge on the outskirts of Phoenix, charge at the half way point, then charge as I enter the inland empire, then if I want to do anything once I arrive I need to charge again. So, I think BMW nailed this.

I wish BMW the best of luck with the iX3, but the fact that they chose a 115 kWh battery shows that they are not capable of building an affordable and efficient BEV and its no anywhere near Teslas safety and the killer argument: it can't drive itself either. FSD supervised makes every competitor look like a vehicle from the old days of our parents and grandparents and those days are gone. A clear no go. youtube.com/watch?v=wyGUe2…

@SawyerMerritt 2026/27/28 will finally be the years decent European EVs come online. It took a while, and a few iterations, but it’s cool to see.

@texasrunnerDFW But it also properly scales to high income earners. If you’re spending $1M a year buying cars, boats, furniture, traveling, etc. you’re paying in a lot more over someone who is only spending $5-$10k a year on sales tax related items.

What people who want to cancel property taxes are really advocating for is higher sales taxes and higher income tax The burden of both those is disproportionately carried by young, working families at the height of their income and consumption stage in life

@StevenMeyerUX @iambackend @benjaminfievet You demonstrated my point. The whole idea of discourse is continuous criticism which in turn promotes innovation and development. If you actually learned how to dig a ditch you as a person would’ve been bettered by my complaining.

@realtartsauce @benjaminfievet No, I want your version. I want to tax everyone out of their homes to become permanent renters. Oh and still end up raising 50 other taxes anyways 😂 that will fix it all.

@HydratedTripod @iambackend @benjaminfievet It taxes the land your house sits on which is the same end result, it shouldn’t exist. There are many other ways and many more other taxes that could cover what a property tax does.

@adam_mcaden @benjaminfievet I agree, you hit it perfectly. There’s people who act like they’re 12 and think “just one more tax and this will all be fixed.” It’s pure insanity that people vote for more taxes while never auditing and fixing the current spend.

@SnapperClapper1 @benjaminfievet Defend my land 😂. I’m sorry man, I just can’t justify bootlicking politicians and giving them more money to turn around and waste. You’re clearly the guy that falls for “just one more tax will fix this.”

@StevenMeyerUX @benjaminfievet Yes you have to pay tax on land that society protects for you. Otherwise you have to defend land yourself, which from the looks of it would not fair well for you.

@realtartsauce @benjaminfievet And why can’t income tax handle that? Why can’t local sales taxes handle that? Why can’t the 50 other taxes handle that? So my take is dumb, but you think taxing seniors out of their homes due to rising property tax costs is logical? Okay, makes sense 😂

You’ll complain if it’s sitting, you’ll complain if it becomes 2 $800k homes for sale, you’ll complain if it becomes a business, you’ll complain on probably anything that becomes of that land. If it becomes something and they pay more taxes, you’ll complain they aren’t paying even more taxes. Moral of the story is, you’ll complain.

@benjaminfievet It’s a “sleep tax”. You are literally taxed to sleep in your own home that you own. That sounds right to you? Whether applied to property or land, you think it’s right to get taxed to sleep after paying taxes all day long on everything else?
