STUART TREE: 1979 - 2026
It is with deep sadness that we bring you the news that Stuart Tree passed away suddenly this morning, at the age of 46.
Stuart was, to many, the soul of Corinthian-Casuals Football Club in the modern era. His passion, energy and stunningly talented creative mind transformed the club’s image and his friendly nature meant that all newcomers were made to feel welcome by him.
His photography brought the world of non-league world vividly to life, capturing its very essence, and his dedication to Casuals has ensured that our story is known the world over thanks to his pioneering use of social media in its early days.
More than anything, he is a friend to everyone at the club and so many in Tolworth, Surbiton and the surrounding area. A true gentle giant, he stood 6ft 8in tall but was entirely unintimidating, a warm-hearted figure who brought people together and came to be a pillar of our club and community.
This place will quite simply not be the same without him.

@Basingstoke_FC Really classy post. As a ref myself, I’d be gutted. It is a game of angles, sometimes we get it wrong because angles can deceive us.

An update following our wrongful dismissal appeal concerning Simon Grant’s red card from Saturday’s fixture with Dorchester Town.
The FA panel gathered today and has now issued its decision. 👇

😳This does look like a penalty TBH
Adam@AdamFulwell_
Jarred Gillett refused to give a penalty for this, then VAR deemed it “normal contact”. Referee’s too scared to give on field decisions because of VAR. VAR too scared to overrule the referee’s onfield decisions. VAR is worsening standards. #BOUSUN

@sajidma17854069 @NathanJudah Yeah - he should be more careful on a YC. Naive playing.
English

@NathanJudah It’s harsh but ngl coz he takes a couple touches first we can’t really use the “it was straight after the whistle” excuse
English

@NathanJudah Not sure if it was him being a muppet or not hearing the whistle. Either way he should be better than this…
English

@Rory_Talks_Ball Really nasty! Ref will be gutted he didn’t see it! Lengthy ban for this. Plus - police should be involved.
English

This is the sort of thing where it should really be a criminal repercussion rather than just a footballing one
It’s a violent assault and has nothing to do with the actual game

ABSOLUTELY DISTGUSTING FROM TREADDUR BAY TOM TAYLOR SHOULD GET BANNED FOR LIFE DISGRACE!! @CPDPorthmadogFC

@STomlinson1332 @NUFCMurph Absolutely agree. Think ref got it right yesterday, but others need to have the bottle to do it. It wouldn’t take long for players to get it right. Grealish was on a mission to get sent off yesterday, it seemed.
English

@TheYak22 @MrRyanLeister Just to clarify - I think if we are re-refereeing - then this is a red card.
English

@TH_Muso @MrRyanLeister Yh it probably is, Idek anymore the way footy has gone I dont watch that and think its violent especially compared to Hwang’s challenge on Armstrong that could of broke his leg 🤷♂️

Moyes: “it’s certainly not a deliberate action”
I don’t know what’s worse, him saying it or if he actually believes it.
What a silly sausage he’s made himself look with this.
Sky Sports Premier League@SkySportsPL
"It's not a deliberate tugging of the hair." David Moyes disagreed with the referee's decision to send off Michael Keane in Everton's draw with Wolves ❌
English

@TheYak22 @MrRyanLeister If slowed down it looks bad. Hwang challenge was very poor and (as a ref) a darkened orange card (could go either way). Because the referee saw it, the level of subjectivity on it was taken in to consideration so no VAR. But if RC given it would stick. Ref didn’t see hair tug.
English

@TheYak22 @MrRyanLeister I think the directive since the incident the other year (and in Women’s football) is that a clear grab and tug of hair is always an act of VC. If consistent, I think that’s a good thing for the sport (can’t do it in boxing/martial arts, so shouldn’t be in footy). Thoughts?
English

@ChikoWasHere @Wolves @Everton As a referee…. Hands are tied for that. The sarcastic clapping is just so silly, it is a stonewall yellow - can’t pretend we didn’t hear it. Grealish lost his head. Still, we couldn’t score anyway.
English

@CateStaffs @JacquiOatley It is an open and shut case. If you deliberately make an action to pull hair it is a red card for VC.
English

@JacquiOatley That is the first thing that came to my mind too.
You just can not pull someone's hair. 🤷🏼♀️

With 🥶 temperatures, here's how the Whaddon Road pitch is being protected ahead of Sunday's noon kick-off against Crawley Town #ctfc
