Why Acting Despite Fear Matters More Than Strength... Across history and storytelling, there’s a moment that keeps appearing. A man stands in front of something greater than himself; knowing he isn’t enough, yet choosing to act anyway. It’s not strength that defines him... It’s the decision to move forward despite doubt. A reflection from The Restless Signal. The full conversation continues just below.

Pope Leo XIV was asked who he’d root for between the United States and Peru in the World Cup. His answer? “Probably Peru.”

Kathleen Kennedy, in her January 2026 Deadline exit interview, on whether she regrets any of her decisions running Lucasfilm: "I wouldn't do that any differently and I wouldn't change anything that we've done over the years." After The Acolyte, three directionless sequels, and years of cancelled films, does she have a point or is this the most tone-deaf exit statement in Hollywood history?

BREAKING: The Department of Homeland Security just bulldozed a 1,000-year-old archaeological site in Arizona. The 200-ft intaglio—an enormous ground carving painstakingly etched into the desert floor over generations—was ripped apart for wall construction. DHS knew exactly what they were destroying. Tribes and advocates have fought to protect this site for decades.

Ketanji Brown Jackson is arguably the dumbest person I’ve seen hold the mantle of Supreme Court Justice. According to @MZHemingway, her colleagues may agree: “It's actually a legitimate issue. You take a liberal justice like Elena Kagan, and apart from what I reported in my book about how she left her colleagues to die, they respect her. I don’t think that Ketanji Brown Jackson has any respect, even from her liberal colleagues."

4 VPs out of 10 (or so) went on to become their parties’ nominee and 2 became President. Compare that against senators and governors who have each had 4 as well, but against how many hundreds of senators and governors who have served since 1988? In modern America, VP is the most sure stepping stone to the presidency.

Many people do not seem to want data centres built near them, despite the fact that they don't cause that much traffic and often generate a lot of local tax revenue. I suspect it's partly because they're ugly! My proposal:

@TheSignalsVoice @greggnunziata Sure, they've got some bad ones (a few have been jailed). No political party in human history has been without some bad apples. But the guys proposing basic Democratic policies aren't "bad actors" -- except in the minds of MAGA Republicans and some bad actors on the Right.

Very likely Republicans will lose the midterms in 26 and the White House in 28. There will be a surge of energy for "reform." Bad actors on the left will try to catch that wave for their ends. Principled conservatives will be needed to resist them. To do so, we must engage now.

HOT TAKE nobody on my timeline wants to hear: Watching MAGA influencers like @NickSortor or @EricLDaugh cheer Trump telling Tennessee to redraw for a 9-0 GOP map is embarrassing. Gerrymandering is a DISGRACE when Democrats do it. It is ALSO a disgrace when Republicans do it. Pick a principle and STICK to it. Politicians of BOTH parties carving up districts to pre-select their voters is the political class rigging the game against you. That's the whole scam. Incumbents drawing safe seats so they NEVER face a real challenge. If you cheered when SCOTUS struck down Louisiana's racial gerrymander because "the Constitution is colorblind" and districts shouldn't be drawn to engineer outcomes, then you don't get to turn around 24 hours later and demand your team engineer outcomes harder. Voters should pick politicians. Politicians shouldn't pick voters. End the racket. Independent maps. Compact districts. Stop letting the apparatus pre-cook your elections. Don't tread on me. 🟧

@Lynn_Henning @greggnunziata No, bad actors on the left means, bad actors on the left. You really don’t think the Left, comprised of 70+ million people vying for status, influence, resources and power doesn’t have any bad actors?

@greggnunziata “Bad actors on the left” — code language for common-sense policies that built post-WW II America and that continue to be vilified by a GOP, which, four decades ago, abandoned its centrist ways for the Limbaugh/FOX/Trump mania. Result: A party was hijacked. A nation was cleaved.

How do you know that? How do you know that Trump, who actually sits in classified briefings every day (presidential daily briefing), who attend meetings of the national security counsel, and who has actually deployed forces from Germany and other forward operating bases, isn’t aware of the base’s utility to US power projection?

Something a lot of people don't see. Trump thinks US troops in Germany are there to protect Germany. They're not. They're there because the US needs the bases to be able to carry out US operations beyond the north American continent. Trump doesn't understand this basic fact.

The continued attacks on NATO allies are counterproductive. The comments hurt Americans. I commanded the huge Ramstein AB in Germany. The two big airfields in Germany give us great access in three continents. We are shooting ourselves in our own feet.

WTF is THIS? "OpenAI and Microsoft just filed an emergency motion asking the judge to instruct the jury: "Your verdict does not create legal precedent, establish legal rules, or bind the outcome of any other case, including any case involving charitable giving."" Jury instructions are not typically created at opponent party request simply because they are uncomfortable with how a witness they compelled to testify answered THEIR questions.
NIK@ns123abc

🚨 MUSK V. ALTMAN DAY 3 OpenAI and Microsoft just filed an emergency motion asking the judge to instruct the jury: "Your verdict does not create legal precedent, establish legal rules, or bind the outcome of any other case, including any case involving charitable giving." This is because Musk told the jury yesterday this case could "set precedent to losing every charity in America." OpenAI and Microsoft lawyers are trying to kill Musk's testimony from yesterday because they think it landed with the jury. Defendants don’t file emergency instruction motions unless they think the witness scored.

Not all Americans are upset, it is what it is. What’s annoying is the constant put downs from Europeans who take every opportunity available to belittle our people, and never give us credit for any accomplishment. “Haha Americans are so dumb — schools are for more than shootings!” Even our freaking bread aisles are fodder for your snobbery towards us. So yeah, after awhile I do feel aggrieved about you all attacking the Americans who came before me, who did the best they could at the time with what they had, and despite countless challenges built an amazing country out of nothing. Or about the constant attacks on our current way of life, which is the way my family lives. Like it’s so less than. Do you like it when people mock your family? Maybe you don’t mind; but I love my family, flaws and all, and it kind of upsets me when people put them down. Whatever, enjoy your better bread aisles; kind of sad you all are so proud of them.

Love how upset and angry Americans are getting about BREAD. They feel it as a personal insult that Europeans have better bread. I am quite happy to admit that bread in France and others places is far better than UK generally. It didn’t hurt my ego to type that.
