An Iranian American here: many of these sound easier said than done, and some are horrible ideas. For example, targeting power plants would primarily harm ordinary people, children, hospital patients, and those in ICUs, rather than the regime itself. Iran’s power grid is also highly decentralized; the largest power plant accounts for only about 4% of total output, so the impact would be limited while the humanitarian cost is high. On the internet side, people in Iran have already experienced prolonged blackout for 30 days ( imagine this had happened in Gaza!!! What would have been the reaction of lefts and liberals in US) Restoring access is critical, but it’s not straightforward unless we can use Starlink direct to cell. The Internet infrastructure on the ground is relatively decentralized and tightly controlled by the regime, making external intervention very difficult. Not sure why Elon is not doing it already! In my view, more effective strategies would focus on weakening the regime’s control rather than inflicting broad harm on civilians. This could include: •Supporting the Iranian people through information access and international broadcasting to enable organized protests and uprisings and then protect them from the air •Targeting IRGC checkpoints and enforcement mechanisms in major cities. This was very successful and broke IRGC’s back! We need more of this •Offering immunity or safe exit pathways to mid- and high-level commanders to encourage them to escape. It also creates internal fractures within the IRGC command structure •Seizing regime-linked assets in Western countries and oil shipments and redirecting proceeds to support opposition movements. It also avoids further shocks to global energy markets There are many ways to apply pressure without collectively punishing the entire nation. Attacking civilian infrastructure like power plants should not be taken lightly as the consequences can be as dangerous as nuking IRAN ! #DigitalBlackOutIran‌

As regrettable as it is not to allow public mass for the holiest days of the year at Christianity's most holy sites, barring private mass celebrated by the head of the Catholic Church in the Holy Land and the Custos of the Holy Sepulcher crosses the line. I urge the Israeli government to reverse course and allow at least private liturgy during this Holy Week.
