When you combine my husband’s direct ancestors with mine, our daughter directly descends from more than 35 Revolutionary War Patriots, including a Culpeper Minute Man. If you were to add the number of indirect ancestors like the brothers and cousins from our families with our direct ancestors, she descends from almost 75 Revolutionary War Patriots. Our families have served in every single war since then. Our ancestors have fought, bled, and even died for this country. My husband has served this country. Don’t you dare tell me it’s not my country to begin with. We are literally the posterity talked about in our founding documents. The level of disrespectful hubris you — an Indian — holds against Americans despite the fact that you would jump at the chance to come to our country for work astounds me. When foreigners wonder why Americans have suddenly become opposed to any and all immigration, this is one reason why. We are over it.
