13 years building an app. MRR stuck at $250 to $300/month. One developer started following @seraleev and made a few small changes: better icon, new screenshots, tighter onboarding. Organic traffic only … Reddit posts and comments. One year later he’s over $4,000/month. He didn’t have a traffic problem. He had a packaging problem. Victor breaks it down into five things to fix: 1. ICON: it’s the first thing someone sees in the App Store. If it looks rough, they won’t tap. ChatGPT can give you a quick placeholder, or you can hire a designer. The designer will always be better. 2. SCREENSHOTS: show the app running. Real screens, readable text, correct device frames. Tell a story with your screenshots. Read the article I wrote on best practices from @designerants 3. ONBOARDING: walk the user through your core value in 3 to 4 screens. Don’t assume they’ll figure it out. Paint the picture, don’t teach them how to use the app. 4. PAYWALL: present it right after onboarding. Most purchases happen in the first session. Waiting costs you money. I once created a paywall that only 1% of users saw. How much better do you think a paywall 100% of users sees will convert? … 1 in 100 people saw mine vs. 100. Sales is a numbers game. 5. SIMPLE USER FLOW: one screen, one action. Clear path forward at every step. Remove anything that makes the user stop and think.
