The Pope who ordered the enslavement of people by race. He told the Portuguese to go for the blackman and the Spanish for the indigenous. Pope Nicholas V. He invented racism and also chased out the moors. He invented racism! Through the church the enslavement of African people by other people on the basis of race begin in Europe. Pope Nicholas V issued the papal bull Dum Diversas on 18 June 1452. It authorized Alfonso V of Portugal to reduce any "Saracens (Muslims) and pagans and any other unbelievers" to perpetual slavery. This facilitated the Portuguese slave trade from West Africa. The same pope wrote the bull Romanus Pontifex on January 5, 1455, to the same Alfonso. As a follow-up to the Dum diversas, it extended to the Catholic nations of Europe's dominion over discovered lands during the Age of Discovery. Along with sanctifying the seizure of non-Christian lands, it encouraged the enslavement of native, non-Christian peoples in Africa and the New World (The Americas).

💔 We were deeply saddened to hear of the tragic passing of Dr. Naod Firdu. He was a dedicated advocate for those with ADHD and other mental health issues, working tirelessly to spread awareness and provide support. His courage in openly sharing his personal experiences illuminated the challenges faced by so many, while his compassion and wisdom offered hope and guidance to those struggling. Dr. Naod was a brilliant light dedicated to the service of others. His contributions to destigmatizing mental illness and empowering those with ADHD will have lasting impact. Though gone far too soon, his legacy will live on through those he inspired and the change he helped create. We hope his loved ones are able to find comfort and solace during this difficult time. We have included a link below to a past session where Dr. Naod generously shared his story and advocacy work. It serves as a testament to his character and profound commitment to helping others. He will be dearly missed and remembered with admiration and appreciation. Our hearts go out to all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his example of selfless service continue guiding our efforts to support mental health and create a more just, inclusive world.
