@blackgirlinmain I can understand. Heck, I remember a date in college where the guy asked me out for Chinese food…and then assumed I was paying. I split the bill instead, and there was no second date.

This thread is the reason why most folks, especially over 40, don't want to do a dinner date with a stranger. Sitting across from a boozy, trauma dumping stranger, who's eating off your plate. Nah, I'll pass.

Roller coaster of emotions over the past 24 hours. We had a birthday party for Mila with tons of family in NJ on Saturday. Right before the party started, I got a text from my mom. My grandfather was dying. Not in pain, but unresponsive. He’s had dementia for the past couple of years. They said he has not had 24-48 hours left. My hope was that I would get back in time to say goodbye. Unfortunately I didn’t get that chance. He passed away this morning as we were driving home. Painful to hear, but happy that he is at peace. Rest in peace Poppy. I love you

@blackgirlinmain It really is bonkers out here. My ice cream date, who I’ve been out with a few other times, became a dinner date recently where we cooked together. And we spent the time enjoying each other’s company.

It has been a weird two days here. I had no idea I didn't value myself because I'm good with eating ice cream with a stranger. Here I was protecting my energy and time.

@IncJazzo @blackgirlinmain LOL - you get the best Twitter name award. I agree with you. Whatever happened to having fun and not putting so much pressure on dates? It’s like so many people are struggling to enjoy the process.

I'm twice this woman's age, but I think an ice cream date for an initial meeting is pretty cool. After two marriages and a number of dalliances, I offer this advice. The first meeting is a time to just see if there's a vibe. Why not enjoy a sweet treat while seeing what's good?

@kickflips_ Definitely compare deals between carriers. Sometimes your current carrier will give deeper discounts to keep you as a customer if you call in and tell them you’re thinking about switching.

@robinthede Over Thanksgiving last year, me and my cousins binge watched all three seasons. We were all falling over laughing on the couch. I needed that laughter because I had just lost my mom that October. Thanks to you, the cast and crew of ABLSS for giving us so much joy. 😂
