The TTC Special Constable report left much to be desired. Untrustworthy data, DEI-driven recruitment, administrative burdens, a hefty $29 million price tag, and most importantly, a lack of results. And the audacity to include a photo of a Dodgers fan in the report really pissed me off. Do you have any confidence in this TTC Board? 🤔

You know those conversations that are about nothing… but also everything? That’s Neighbour Chat. Lisa and Larissa somehow make topics like morning routines, backyard setups, and even toilet seats genuinely entertaining. Proud husband moment (Lisa is my spouse) take a listen: rss.com/podcasts/neigh…

"Justice Minister Sean Fraser says he has significant concerns with the way the provinces are overriding Charter rights by invoking the notwithstanding clause, and he's prepared to establish guardrails around its use at the federal level..." If the provinces are the problem, and they are, why only restrict it at the federal level? The plan at Confederation, and for decades after, was that the federal government would prevent provincial governments from abusing rights, using the disallowance power. Eventually that role was taken over by the courts, and the Charter. But if the Charter is fast becoming a dead letter, via the notwithstanding clause, then Canada would be left, for the first time in our history, with no effective protection for rights. That is, we will, unless the feds act. The feds have the power to protect our rights. They should use it. Charter at a turning point as it turns 44 | CBC News cbc.ca/news/politics/…

That is as a matter of fact, what many are talking about. Or maybe there is no debates, because #canadians have already decided. Most people couldn't tell you the difference between the #Liberal and #Conservative federal policies. But they know who the leaders are. #Branding matters more than ever in #canpolitics

At no point does Gary Mason ever weigh in on the “was he right/was he wrong?” aspect of any of Carney’s policies or recommendations the last half-decade of the Trudeau death spiral. He doesn’t even challenge Poilievre’s thesis, just the TONE. I think Canadians aren’t sitting at their kitchen tables debating “tone” - it’s “is something true or not & are our lives getting worse or better?” Just my take.

I’m a Conservative… but I’m begging us to get serious. I’m begging on my knees for someone else to write his speeches. We can disagree with Mark Carney all day long on policy. Fair game. Necessary, even. But saying the guy has an “illusion of knowledge” is like saying Connor McDavid has an illusion of being able to skate. We don’t win by pretending competence is fake. We win by proving we can do better.
Scott Robertson@sarobertsonca

Pierre Poilievre: "The gap between Mr. Carney's boasting and his results is perhaps unprecedented. As Daniel Boorstin said, 'the greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge.'"

@PierrePoilievre And yet #Canadians trust him. What will the #cons do to try and instil that same trust? Those facts don’t matter if the perception is that he’s the guy for the moment. If you’re right, why does most of the country believe the contrary? #canada #libs

Mark Carney has been wrong about every major economic question of our time. - He predicted COVID would cause deflation - He supported carbon taxes - His Net-Zero Alliance is now bankrupt and shut down - He wrote we should keep 50% of our oil in the ground - He opposed the Northern Gateway Pipeline He is an expert at making exactly the wrong call every single time.

The latest from Jeff Greenberg: accordingto.ca/machine-learni… The #technology quietly running your world — and why you should understand it You’ve probably heard the term “#machinelearning” tossed around in headlines, boardrooms, and tech commercials. It sounds complicated - and sometimes the people who work with it like it that way. But here’s the truth: it’s not magic, and it’s not some distant #science-fiction concept. #Machine #learning is already woven into how you shop, how you get treated at the hospital, and how your bank keeps your money safe. Understanding even a little bit of it puts you ahead of most people walking around with this technology in their pocket.

Canadian public opinion is being shaped by two competing threat frames: External: Trump, U.S. policy, economic vulnerability Internal: spending, immigration, services, inequality Right now, the external threat is winning. And that’s shaping politics. abacusdata.ca/what-canadians…

#Hockey is not like football or baseball with individual assignments and constant timeouts. There's too much going on. You need creativity, you need the #passion. For the #Leafs, Joe Bowen was the last vestige of that passion. #nhl

@brianlilley While he might be ok in the short term, Pierre will have been the opposition leader for 7 years before the next #canadian #election. Abilities aside, people get sick of the same face. #conservatives need a succession plan. No one has ever won a #federal election after leading the opposition for that long

Poilievre's Conservatives are dealing with a hangover as Carney's Liberals celebrate their majority. The pain may not be over for the Conservatives as Liberals recruit more CPC MPs, which might spell the end of Poilievre. torontosun.com/opinion/column…

Here's our take on why Floor Crossing shouldn't be permitted: accordingto.ca/floor-crossing… An excerpt for the Americans in the audience: Imagine If the Shoe Was on the Other Foot. If you don't see the problem, think about this potential scenario for just one second. Imagine Donald Trump had a minority of seats in Congress and a couple of #Democrats switched teams and became #Republicans. The amount of vitriol that would rise to the surface of the discourse. It is not a stretch to posit that it would turn violent in a place like the USA. People would be taking to the streets. It would matter. Yet for some reason, #Canadians are giving each of these people a pass. We talk about our sovereignty. How #Canada must be protected, how we think it's so important to have a #democracy with clear rules and regulations. That your #voice counts, and your vote matters. But evidently, this is totally wrong.

Canadians vote for several Conservative MPs. They win. Once in parliament, they flip to the @liberal_party achieving a majority. Hence all of the votes in question were nullified. Many Canadians are hailing this as a victory for democracy. It is truly astounding.

I asked Steve Paikin if journalists should take propaganda trips organized by lawless genocidal supremacist state. He refused to respond & colleague tried to disrupt me so I ranted about remarkable media bias that would see him moderate leaders election debate during genocide

@AntonioTweets2 All laniards at the convention would say #liberal of course. They absolutely were being harassed. #tvo is painfully flexible and bipartisan. @spaikin is even more so and a national treasure. @BonnieCrombie is a bad*ss for defending him. The #msm deserves criticism. This isn't it.

WATCH: Steve Paikin, who works for TVO, was at the Liberal convention this weekend wearing a Liberal lanyard, and former Ontario Liberal leader Bonnie Crombie tried to block a citizen from asking Paikin questions, and then tells the police they are being harassed. Did you know that TVO gets 80% of its revenue from the government? The MSM is bought and paid for.
