@AmazonHelp how do I call support for orders. Your help site sends me in a loop to talk to someone and never provides me a way despite going to that specific page it is supposed to provide.

@steipete Everything or at least almost everything I want already exists here. I can go to the store and buy it. The problem is that I have to do the research to discover what I want and need and I’d generally then need to install it. I want a company that does all that for me.

@badeen But it sounds exactly like what you’d want. I have a pool of ~300 companies building modules that all can talk to each other via an reliable, proven open, patent-free standard.

Can someone please build a business for setting up smart homes that use consumer tech (HomeKit, Matter, etc…) instead of Control4, Creston and all that crap… and it is crap by comparison.

@steipete I think it has more to do with their business model. They charge out the wazoo for their proprietary system which you have to have a license as a company to use. I can’t touch it. Locked in.

@pardonmyxfrench @offbeatorbit I did this once with Burbank and LAX. It was because I didn’t book it and the person who did book it told me the wrong airport and I hadn’t bothered to confirm that. Thankfully I get to the airport so early I managed to get a 45 minute Uber to LAX and still made my flight.

@offbeatorbit How do people do this? Y’all don’t know the airport you book? Look up the flight number and gate the night before? Do pre-check in? Add the flight information to your calendars? Maybe it’s my anxiety that keeps me prepped 😭

It finally happened: saw a guy try to enter the security line only to be told his boarding pass says he should be at La Guardia, not JFK 😭

Yeah, so I don’t know why Apple Maps started doing this, but when I’m standing in the parking lot of Epcot and I ask it to remember where I parked, it throws the pin to under Spaceship Earth for some reason?

People with name recognition don’t tend to play characters in commercials unless the character is one they are famous for in film or TV. This Paul playing Scrooge and Einstein is demeaning imo.

Wasn’t Paul Giamatti once considered one of the great actors? Now he’s Scrooge in a Verizon ad?

@jeffseibert I had similar issues for Tinder. We designed features to avoid that very same thing.

There's a reason we did not ship view counts on tweets in 2015 (yes, it was on the roadmap). If *I* am mortified about the low view counts on my tweets, the average user is… despondent? It lays bare the false premise of social media—that followers are expected traffic. Brutal.

@idonthaveaband just FYI. Mickey’s eyes in Steamboat Willie aren’t black with no pupils. The black ovals are his pupils. The are that we now associate with his face and forehead were actually his eyes. Here’s a couple early Mickey pics that make it more clear.

Didn’t we fight a revolutionary war so we wouldn’t have to hear about British royalty all the time? We already have pointlessly famous people called the Kardashians that I have to endure hearing about. None of this is news.
