Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE) measured as lifetime costs divided by energy production: • Nuclear: $182/MWh • Gas Peaking: $169/MWh • Coal: $118/MWh • Geothermal: $85/MWh • Gas Combined Cycle: $76/MWh • Solar PV-Utility: $61/MWh • Wind-Onshore: $50/MWh Coal consumption has dropped 64% since its peak in 2005. It is not the future. We need a LOT more energy generation if we're gonna power all of these massive upcoming AI compute data-centers. If America does not invest heavily in these areas, we risk falling behind. Expanding renewable energy capacity and grid-scale battery storage should be a top priority right now. America is more ready for further investment in solar and batteries than you might think.
