@ANethsingha This is historic news. As a former Head Chorister of St Margaret’s Westminster, I am so thrilled that local girls are at last being given this wonderful opportunity. I know what it did for me. Congratulations to all at St Margaret’s who made this happen!

As a council @lbrut has done all it can to support survivors of VAWG. But during these 16 Days of Activism, we’re reminded how much more we must do to prevent it, from helping parents tackle online misogyny to enabling safe intervention. We will keep working to stop VAWG.

@nsandihelp I have just been told by one of your phone operators that you allocate unclaimed prizes "to the next holder along". Surely this can't be true?

@lmeducational @CharteredColl Promoting and developing teacher professionalism was at the heart and core of @CharteredColl's mission when it was set up. A great article introducing a fantastic edition of the Impact journal.

I am thrilled/amazed/honoured that in the next Impact Journal from @CharteredColl it will contain an article I have written about the importance of respecting teacher professionalism and the nuance between agency and autonomy. Tell me what you think!!

Finished term in Cleethorpes today adjudicating the amazing House Singing Competition @HavelockAcademy - every student and every adult singing (really well). And the end of term means I’ve now been a music teacher for A THIRD OF A CENTURY 😱 - still the best job in the world.

@EduResearching @CharteredColl @Positivteacha As a founder member of @CharteredColl who played a tiny part in its launch, I am just delighted by the quality of the resources it offers. This presentation was top notch: informative, thoughtful, challenging, topical, well evidenced. Thank you.

A great @CharteredColl session this evening with @PositivTeacha Matt Pinkett, who guided us through approaches to combatting misogyny in schools. Really informative! Thank you to everyone who tuned in!

@theAliceRoberts As a former governor of a multifaith C of E primary school, I think you are over egging the influence any inspection system has on a school, though of course I respect your concerns about the whole idea of schools with a religious ethos.

@theAliceRoberts Collective worship is compulsory in all state schools. To ask how it enables pupils to flourish spiritually is a good question, and could be asked by Ofsted as well as SIAMS.

There’s been some interesting discussion on faith schools here. It seems a lot of people don’t realise quite what a hold the CofE has over (taxpayer-funded) state faith schools - and how it’s investing millions to convert more young people…

@KirstieMAllsopp @JonHaidt @FreeRangeKids Well Done! I went Interrailing in 1977 at 15 (with a 17yo who did most of the planning), and learnt so much in my 4 weeks tour of Europe. We must do everything we can to promote understanding on our continent. Britain will one day mend itself!

with our son, but I’m so proud of him & my loss is nothing compared to his gain & the encyclopaedic knowledge he now has of the differences between one McDonalds & another 😜, if we’re afraid our children will also be afraid, if we let go, they will fly @JonHaidt @FreeRangeKids

My little boy has returned from 3 weeks inter-railing, he’ll be 16 on Wednesday so he went with a mate who’s already 16 due to hostel/travel restrictions, but they organised the whole thing; Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, Berlin, Munich, Marseille, Toulouse, Barcelona & Madrid 1/3

@SwailesRuth @Sheena2907 Yes, he got a knighthood! Unlike so many teachers and Heads of ho kept things going. How that talentless sh*t is still an MP beats me.

@Sheena2907 I was just remembering this. Many friends’ children were badly affected. The injustice of it all still makes me seethe, and Williamson got a knighthood. I like to think that those affected remembered that day when they voted on 4th July.

4 years ago today, the second worst day of my teaching career, it was A level results 2020. Looking back I'm still angry. What those students went through that day was cruel and avoidable and many of them are still living with the repercussions

Maths teachers - how do you explain to your students how the graph of y=f(x) is transformed to give the graph of y=f(2x-6)?

For context: This election, there was only a 52% turnout. - 48 in every 100 eligible voters never voted, effect saying 'there is no option I trust here'. - Labour received 34% of the vote. - 34% of 52%. In real terms, 18 in every 100 eligible voters, voted for you. But Labour get to rule. A scam 'democracy' aka totalitarian state. We see you, and you are not our representative.

@mikegalsworthy They are a mess. Just watched a clip of the 1997 election night TV special and noticed how graceful the Conservative Party were in defeat then. It’s not about the Tory party, it’s about the UK!

Brexiteers still can’t comprehend how the Conservative Party, after throwing out Remainers & going full Brexit, collapsed to nothing. And the same fools would throw away their party, a British institution formed in 1834, for Farage’s start-up company.
