As a council @lbrut has done all it can to support survivors of VAWG. But during these 16 Days of Activism, we’re reminded how much more we must do to prevent it, from helping parents tackle online misogyny to enabling safe intervention. We will keep working to stop VAWG.

@pepetideo @RestIsPolitics @campbellclaret @RoryStewartUK I agree with you but it's also important to emphasize that man is capable of potentialy making the ultimate sacrifice (as the couple actually did) irrespective of their own background and that of who they are helping as I assume Ahmed Al Ahmed would not have known about

He was a hero. But i am quite sad that the other couple a few minutes earlier that tried to do the same and both were killed are not being recognised for their equaly selfless act of bravery. I want to think it is because they were ultimatly not sucessfull and people like to talk about good outcomes... but i wonder if the fact that they were jews was a factor...in other words...it is a better narrative to talk about the muslim that protected against the terrorists than about the jews that did the same.

We have people in power making broad claims around certain drugs and autism that have been continuously disproven. The degree to which those comments can undermine public health, do harm to women who are pregnant, create anxiety for parents who do have children who are autistic – is violence against the truth.

Great news for #Moormead and St Margaret’s as @thameswater plans would have caused irreparable damage to our local community. Overall plans are still dreadful & we must continue to resist them alongside @lbrut @munirawilson @sarahjolney1 but at least, for now, our park is safe.
