Is there such thing as too much data in golf? Played/practiced for a while yesterday. I hit some shots that, outdoors, I would have said were great. Indoors I looked at them and was mad about my AOA. One such example is pictured below. 272 in the fairway is a great shot for me. It started a little left of target and fell a little right. I was pumped about this shot until I saw the data below. It's time to get back outside. 🤦‍♂️

Wait !!! This is #9 at the Stadium ? There is a spot in play right of the lake ? There’s condos over there. I really can’t remember anyone hitting it in that lake. It’s there and it’s a concern but the left side is a huge backboard. If a player hit it in the middle of the lake it’s a huge foul ball! If they missed right of the lake they had to aim it over there. No one can miss that far to the right. Wowzer!

Hey Tommy Fleetwood! I know it hurts but this should make you feel some better. I know KB is a tiny bit more down the hill and straighter but your putt 100% hits a ball mark and dives dead right. You both hit the same putt within a 1/4 of a ball at least.

After (kind of) playing it for 2 days, and watching over the weekend… it’s hard to express how difficult/borderline impossible Oakmont would be if it was firm. Not even rock hard, but just the slightest bit of firmness in the greens would make it 🤯

@StingrGolf I was there that day and in the gallery for that shot. Never seen a golf course play harder. Blowing 40.

Thinking about this overnight. While yes, it was a really bad look to inform Jon Rahm that he'd tested positive right there off the 18th green in full view of the public, it's probably a worse look to let him high-five/fist-bump fans while walking off, then announce it later.
