@brianhuggard @30229671_____ @ByuSome So, men got together, to vote on corrections due to apostasy. And they're to be judged as authorities. Your statement backs their claims for a need of modern Prophets, and another testament of Christ.

The Book of Revelation says not to add to the Bible. Sorry creedal Christians, but the Nicene Creed is invalid. Checkmate. 😏

The Nicene Creed is a statement of belief based on the Bible. The Creeds were written because heresies arose and summaries of basic Christian beliefs became necessary to establish who was a Christian and who wasn’t. Maybe you’ll call that “gatekeeping” or something, but don’t you do something similar with the offshoot LDS groups?

Man the Mormon haters are all over X today. Wait until they learn that people in ancient America also called themselves Christians and they didn't believe in the trinity either. 13 And he fastened on his head-plate, and his breastplate, and his shields, and girded on his armor about his loins; and he took the pole, which had on the end thereof his rent coat, (and he called it the title of liberty) and he bowed himself to the earth, and he prayed mightily unto his God for the blessings of liberty to rest upon his brethren, so long as there should a band of Christians remain to possess the land— 14 For thus were all the true believers of Christ, who belonged to the church of God, called by those who did not belong to the church. 15 And those who did belong to the church were faithful; yea, all those who were true believers in Christ took upon them, gladly, the name of Christ, or Christians as they were called, because of their belief in Christ who should come. 16 And therefore, at this time, Moroni prayed that the cause of the Christians, and the freedom of the land might be favored.

@TruthHolder2023 Person A: “All dogs are mammals.” Person B: “My dog is a fish.” Person A: “All REAL dogs are mammals.” Person B: “Ha! You just did the No True Scotsman Fallacy!” Person A: “No. No, I didn’t.”

In college, it was required for mathematics majors to take a few logic classes. The following is textbook No True Scotsman... Person A: "All Christians believe in the Trinity." Person B: "Members of the Church of Jesus Christ are Christians and they don't believe in the concept of the Trinity." Person A: "Then they're not true Christians." The definition shifts to protect the claim rather than adjusting the claim to fit reality. It's no different from saying "No true American eats ketchup on steak" and then reclassifying anyone who does as un-American. Christianity is a broad, diverse religious base defined primarily by allegiance to Jesus Christ—not by post-4th-century creeds. Billions of people across many denominations disagree on baptism, the Eucharist, the Sacrament, Mary, predestination, Exaltation, scriptures, etc. The Trinity is one more point of disagreement, not the universal standard of Christianity. The universal standard of Christianity is believing that Jesus of Nazareth is the Christ.

@defense_of_fam @slappy_matt I actually agree with you on that. Though I consider Mormonism to be a false and deceptive non-Christian religion, I think God loves and accepts sincere Mormons as his children.

It’s probably time to stop being surprised that people don’t think we’re Christian. We know we are, and Jesus knows we are. Nothing else really matters.

@defense_of_fam @slappy_matt Well, if you all want to be accepted as Christians by the broader Christian community that’s one of many things that you’re going to have to reconsider.

@brianhuggard @slappy_matt That is a no. We believe that in Christ’s church, people must be baptized under His authority. We also believe that opportunity will eventually be offered to everyone. His church is not exclusive. All are invited.

@defense_of_fam @slappy_matt Do you accept the validity of Christian baptisms? For example, I was baptized in a Pentecostal church, in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. My baptism is accepted by Catholics, Lutherans, Baptists, and every other type of Christian.

@RandomLDS @foote_ll The Testimony of the Three Witnesses sounds oddly Trinitarian: “And the honor be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost, which is one God.” What’s going on there?

That’s actually not true. We believe that any sincere believer of Christ is a Christian. We do, however, believe that His priesthood authority rests in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Unlike other denominations, we recognize that our fellow believers are Christians, even if their beliefs are slightly different than ours.

@FatherQuads No matter how many times you all say it, no Christian believes that it was impossible for Jesus to have visited North America. We just don’t believe that he did. That’s all.

Creedalist Christians believe: 1. Jesus isn’t able to travel wherever He wants 2. Beware of false prophets! Except the group of random “bishops” that had a meeting 300 years after Jesus’ ministry and if you don’t believe everything they said you’re going Hell, you heretic!

Mormons can call themselves Christians, but here are ten not-so-small things we disagree on. 1. The value of the Bible 2. Who God is 3. Where God came from

one thing that irks me about modern cinema is that everyone looks like they live in an airbnb or hotel none of that shit feels like a lived in home but throw on the most random 90s movie and you won't have any doubt that a character has spent most of their life in that apartment
