I'm very concerned about the fact that at the moment the big name on the block is age gating and what's driving me mad is that all of the discussion about "let's think of the children" child Protection ban social media for under 16s doesn't think about what it means for over 16s so digital ID is one big issue but what we are seeing is that the government the state in various ways wants to check up on what we read what we post as memes what we say to each other and they're doing that via "think of the children" child Protection measures and age gating so that's the end of privacy that means they can actually genuinely keep tabs on us because you can't age gate unless you show who you are proof of age biometric data and so on and so forth so I really think you're fighting the good fight here drawing attention to the variety of ways that the digital checking on who we are what we say what we read is actually an attack on free speech is happening more and more via digital ID mechanisms and my big bugbear is age gating and no bans for under 16 year olds because it's over 16 year olds who are going lose their democratic civil rights @Fox_Claire Recorded for @Togetherdec #scrapdigitalid #together 4 nations rallies
