It's antithetical to @mymind whole existence but I'd pay extra for an CLI integration or MCP at this point.

@lumen_notes hi! any chance of a way to run lumen just on a folder of markdown files, local repo, or otherwise not sync'd up to a GitHub repo?

@andy_matuschak I’m old fashioned but I still find myself using origami to quickly visualize ideas, and edit them in realtime. Tuning rich interactions and animations is fairly tedious when vibe coding react or SwiftUI.

Prototypers: do you still see a role for semi-high-fidelity modalities like Origami? Or just straight from sketchbook/mocks to vibecode?

@katarinabatina I've also noticed this, it's like a specific type of audio compression

Maybe someone can help me here: there is a certain audio quality that is immediately recognizable in an ai generated video. A pitch/key of sorts that is immediately recognizable no matter how great the video quality is…what is it?

@ow if the "turn into code" is just abstraction anyway, does it matter? Now it's english -> code as that layer of abstraction. A diagram or whatever is just one more layer.

@championswimmer I built a Apple Notes and Obsidian hybrid - Apple Notes UI/UX but backed up by markdown files. I used to use Obsidian a lot, but the UI was too much for me. Then went to nvim on top of an Obsidian vault, but that was also annoying. (low quality screenshot, second monitor)

In the new Claude-Code powered world, my choice to have stuck with Obsidian as a notetaking app (painfully migrated from Evernote many years back) has gotten vindicated. I see friends who are trying to install MCPs of Notion and continue to pay subscription to Notion, or MCPs of Roam, which does a piss-poor job of navigating their Roam graph, while with Obsidian you do not need any plugin, API or MCP at all. Obsidian is afterall just a codebase full of markdown files, you can let Claude Code lose into it - the filesystem is the API, plaintext is the format.

@bryan_king @BearNotesApp @riomadeit bear v1 did this -- you could pick from a handful of fonts but they were applied to both the ui and editor. Even if it were fewer options or a deeper hidden config for power users that'd be amazing @BearNotesApp 🙏

@riomadeit @BearNotesApp You can change the editor font, but not the UI font. Which is even worse because then it doesn’t match.

The cool thing about local-first web apps is you don't have to choose anymore, which was one of the goals for Thymer: real-time collaboration, E2EE sync, and web access, while your data also lives locally and the app works offline. That means tools like Claude (or local LLMs) can get fast access to your workspace data. There's already an MCP plugin and here's a quick prototype where Claude Code talks directly to offline workspace data stored in the browser DB.
John O'Nolan@JohnONolan

Has anyone moved internal company knowledgebase from Notion to Obsidian or similar? How did it go? Starting to think about how valuable it might be for Claude to have local (as in: fast) access to all internal documents

@jenny_wen this happened to me with clips from those Gerard butler movies where he's a secret service agent. Once I watched one the algo wouldn't stop. Against my will I've probably watched 1-2 of these in snippets.

my husband keeps watching moneyball clips and refuses to watch the full movie. he says he’s “recreating it in the aggregate.”
