Nobody talks about the real risk of being too conservative with money. Inflation is guaranteed. Your savings account is guaranteed to lose purchasing power. Playing it safe IS the risk.

@cleanwithmike Agreed, but think it is important to highlight that most who follow that path will struggle even with the "right model", because you also need to be the "right person" for entrepreneurship.

I think about this a lot: People spend 4 years and $100k getting a degree to make $60k a year. I spent $2,000 and 9 months building a business that now clears $40k a month. The ROI on entrepreneurship is insane if you pick the right model.

Name a "financially responsible" thing that's actually terrible advice. I'll start: Renting is throwing money away. False. Owning a depreciating home in a stagnant market is throwing money away.

@stijnnoorman I think most people, including myself when I was struggling, want wealth for the freedom it can bring. But there are also quite a few people who seem to want wealth not for freedom, but to impress others.

You don't want money. You want the thing that you think money will give you. Which is freedom.

The financial system feels complex on purpose. The more confused you are: – the more you hesitate – the more you depend on others - the more you simply listen to "experts" What else am I missing?
