@RightWingJerry Near as I can tell it wasn't rigged, although it certainly looks like Joshua took it easy on him for much of the fight. Barely made any effort at all to take him out in the fifth round when he had Paul reeling.

@kdubbsy @misraetel That's probably very true. But outside of the injury risk, why waste the time and energy trying to Lift lighter weight to the point of failure. Proper form should decrease that injury risk as well.

Some folks today think that sets of 3-6 reps grow muscle better than sets of 6-15 reps. In order to believe this, you have to ignore the consensus of nearly ALL exercise science evidence. It has been long confirmed and re-confirmed that sets of 5-30 reps cause roughly equivalent gains, so long as they're within 3-4 reps of failure.

If you’re at the gym and you manage to do 4 or 5 sets of a single exercise in a single session, here’s what you’re going to want to do next: - locate the locker room - go to the sinks - splash some cold water on your face - look yourself in yourself in the eyes and say aloud “what the fuck was I doing the first 2-3 sets???” - never do that dumb shit again

@zachary135791 @DeanTTraining Sure, and all I was doing was pointing out his hyperbole. If someone is trying to max out their squat, bench, etc and are inexperienced and have been doing the 5x5 or something similar they might think they're doing it wrong because of Dean saying that.

@DeanTTraining Also, as you well know, if someone is training specifically for one type of lift, for a competition or something, of course three sets isn't enough. So your statement, while pithy and blasé, is incorrect in multiple forms. At least say your statement only applies to hypertrophy.

@DeanTTraining What do you suspect is more effective? Five sets of hack squats Or two sets of hack squats and no sets of leg extensions because you hate leg extensions but love doing hack squats? Also, hack squats alone pretty easily.
