The point of a bar graph is to visually display proportionate quantitative data. The point of this bar graph is something else entirely. 447 is less than one tenth of 5713. Someone at @WIPO thinks you are stupid.

@MeridocDaines @afternic Yeah, though the sale had nothing to do with NameMaxi. It sold on afternic. I reported it on NamePros first, then it was on NameBio. I assume NameMaxi saw the sale there.

@datacubecom @afternic Brad, this was your domain? I noticed this domain in the NameMaxi domain report instantly. Cool domain! Congrats on sale.

I sold the domain ImproveMyself.com for $7,500 via @afternic. I have done well with these type of positive call to action / phrase domains over the years.

@kowopeee @afternic Many years. The sell-through rate for passive end user sales is low. It works more on a portfolio wide scale than on an individual domain scale.

@DomainNameWire People want ease of use. Normal domains (Web2) already work fine. I do understand the comments about @unstoppableweb selling out though. They really pushed these hard, then bailed.

@DInvesting @afternic I was wondering what was going on. LTO payment was late, by a few days. No email until today.

@sama I cancelled my subscription. I am not interested in doing business with a company that puts greed over public safety. At this point, you can stop pretending you are doing anything for the betterment of humanity. It's about money and power. That's it.

Tonight, we reached an agreement with the Department of War to deploy our models in their classified network. In all of our interactions, the DoW displayed a deep respect for safety and a desire to partner to achieve the best possible outcome. AI safety and wide distribution of benefits are the core of our mission. Two of our most important safety principles are prohibitions on domestic mass surveillance and human responsibility for the use of force, including for autonomous weapon systems. The DoW agrees with these principles, reflects them in law and policy, and we put them into our agreement. We also will build technical safeguards to ensure our models behave as they should, which the DoW also wanted. We will deploy FDEs to help with our models and to ensure their safety, we will deploy on cloud networks only. We are asking the DoW to offer these same terms to all AI companies, which in our opinion we think everyone should be willing to accept. We have expressed our strong desire to see things de-escalate away from legal and governmental actions and towards reasonable agreements. We remain committed to serve all of humanity as best we can. The world is a complicated, messy, and sometimes dangerous place.

If you are using a domain name for personal email, a hobby, or some kind of other personal or family use, you NEED to move it out of @GoDaddy immediately:

I mean they can do what they want. 10% makes using Godaddy's Landers over theirs a no brainer. At that point you're just paying 10% for their network, which is whatever. It's literally against their best interests to do this. They should stay at 5%, build a competitive network, and try and steal market share. (I should note, I never switched off Afternic landers, because even @ 15% it's a better deal than Spaceship @ 5%)

@namecheapceo123 @TLDInvestors I saw an interview with Elliot Silver, where you said they "may" go up. "Richard told me the commission rate may increase in the future, but it won’t increase beyond 10%." Private equity buys the company, and they go up. What value was added to double the commission?

@TLDInvestors @datacubecom I said it when we first released Sellerhub. Part of the deal was allowing us to build while taking a low commission. I think we are far enough in that process where this makes sense now. We will still keep building even more value into Sellerhub regardless.

I did pretty well with my Super Bowl bets... if you ignore all the ones I lost. I guess I will just stick to domain investing. 😀

Below is a quick look at how "premium" renewals can impact a domain portfolio. Acquisition costs are excluded. This is looking strictly at holding costs. For the math to make sense, you need a much higher average sales price and/or a much higher sell-through rate.

It's rather annoying that @GoDaddy insists on charging a $0.90 fee for outgoing ACH payments. They are collecting commissions between 15% - 30% depending on sales path, boost, landers, etc. It could be a sale for $500 or $500,000. They are deducting that 90 cents.

@CentralDomain @GoDaddy @jamesiles Yeah, it was also a snipe of a buy on a newly listed domain. It's not like it sold via public auction. So, there was really no chance for it to sell for "market value".

For reference purposes, here is one of the emails where a @GoDaddy broker mentions my non-public acquisition. The first time this happened, I let the @GoDaddy broker know I wasn't comfortable with them using private records. This was the second time it happened. @jamesiles

In my situation as a domain owner, a @GoDaddy broker used my non-public acquisition records during negotiation. Now, we can see a broker sharing non-public information with the potential buyer. This is not acceptable. It's a breach of trust, at the very least. @jamesiles
