Beautiful seaside fitness plaza in a third-tier Chinese city Weihai. As the country rises, China is placing greater emphasis on people's fitness and investing heavily in public sports infrastructure.

Israel has extended its invasion of Lebanon beyond the Litani River up to the El Zahrani river, expelling over a million people within this area. Israel is effectively planning to invade and occupy 14% of Lebanon and the international community is allowing it. For proportional context, this is the equivalent of Wales and Northern Ireland (combined) being invaded and occupied in the UK... or Texas, California and Montana (combined) in the US.

China is a superpower with world-class infrastructure, yet you never see its neighbors demanding open borders or claiming to be one people to infiltrate its economy. In Asia, a neighbor's success triggers competition, not a migration crisis. When Vietnam sees China or South Korea winning, the response isn't "let us in," it's "how do we build our own?" They prioritize national development over regional dependence. This stands in stark contrast to the dependency syndrome seen in parts of Africa, where functional economies are often pressured to dissolve borders under the guise of pan-Africanism. While Asia defines itself by sovereignty and distinction, many regional movements elsewhere prioritize assimilation over self-sufficiency. Asia isn't building a borderless union, it's a network of sovereign competitors. Africa has a lot to learn from Asia.

It's really crazy just how cooked Nigeria is as a country. I mean much more proof do you need that the government is compromised and colonized?

I don't think people understand the gravity of the situation as the UN is preparing for possible nuclear weapon use in Iran. This is a picture of Tehran. For you uneducated, untraveled, never-served, warhawks licking your chops at the thought of bombing it. It's not some low population desert. There are families, children, family pets. Regular working class people with dreams. You're sick to want war. Tehran is a city of nearly 10,000,000 people. Imagine nuking Washington, Berlin, Paris, London, or beyond, bombed with nuclear weapons. I gave up my diplomatic career to leak this information. I suspended my duties so as not to be part of or a witness to this crime against humanity, in an attempt to prevent a nuclear winter before it is too late. Yesterday, nearly ten million people protested “No Kings” in the United States. The possibility of the use of nuclear weapons must be taken very seriously. It's dangerous. Act now. Spread this message worldwide. Take the streets. Protest for our humanity and future. Only the people can stop it. History will remember us.

BREAKING: 🇮🇷🇺🇸The Iranian embassy in South Africa posted photos of the two commanders who ordered the attack on the school that killed 180 children and wrote: “Remember these two criminals. Leigh R. Tate, the commander, and Jeffrey E. York, the executive officer of the USS Spruance, who ordered the launch of Tomahawk missiles three times, killing 168 innocent children at a school in Minab. Don’t they have children of their own?”

Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani
A member of an offshoot of the Jewish Defense League — designated by the FBI as a "known violent extremist organization" — was allegedly building explosive devices to target the home of Nerdeen Kiswani in a chilling act of political violence. The defendant reportedly planned to flee to Israel following the attack. This comes amid an alarming rise in threats and violence across the country targeting Palestinian human rights advocates. I am thankful that the NYPD and FBI thwarted this plot, which could have endangered Nerdeen’s life and those of other New Yorkers. Let me be clear: We will not tolerate violent extremism in our city. No one should face violence for their political beliefs or their advocacy. I am relieved that Nerdeen is safe. Our city must meet hate with solidarity, and meet fear with an unshakable commitment to justice and to one another.

You’re going around in circles. My point is clear, practice what you preach. May God free Palestine and be with the brave Palestinians in Gaza. Nothing is dirtier than a hypocrite, you eat from empire, work in the economy of empire, consume empire media and entertainment, and have the audacity to tell others how to live their lives. No buddy, wanna use ad hominem attacks, sure, you’re filth an a degenerate ideologue loser. Get lost.

We truly owe so much to Trump. This man has done more to dismantle Western client states in MENA than 50 years of progressive foreign policy. And is now publically humiliating MBS & delegitimizing the gulf oil monarchies. Our decolonial hero. I can’t help that I love him & wish we could give him a third term

Hypocrisy, leave empire if you don’t like empire. Practice what you preach. It’s easy to make these points behind a keyboard but quieter different when you live in the Middle East/West Asia and experience war first hand. You have no idea what you’re talking about, nor are you educated in our region, people and geopolitical history/dynamics. Never said one should love empire, I’m stating facts about MENA diaspora communities who carry an unusual amount of hatred and resentment towards the Gulf. I’m entitled to reply and give my opinion, as you are.

What’s funny is behind these tweets is probably a first or second-generation immigrant from these “clients states” (MEA) who not only milked the American system and who’s entire livelihood is centered around the ‘empire’ but also got their home countries destroyed by the very same ‘empire’. Why not stay in your ancestral homelands if you’ll end up playing ball? Why not rebuild your country? Why not move to Algeria, or Cuba or North Korea if you care about “client states” so much? Why the blatant hypocrisy? “Gulf oil monarchies” are indigenous emirate systems that have controlled and ruled their respective territories for hundreds of years before the arrival of Europeans or Americans. There is no shame in acquiring US defence, pegging our currencies to the dollar, and allying with America when it BENEFITS our people. When our people have a high life expectancy, when they have free universal healthcare, when they have strong passports and ease of travel, when they have world-class education and universities, when our governments INVEST in the people… so yes, we the GCC are proud allies of the West.

🚨🇺🇸 BREAKING — Trump Admits Socialism Works "I have to say, I respect China, because it’s incredible that with a system that, in theory, shouldn’t work—you know, we go to school, we go to the best business schools, we do well in those schools, and we read about free entrepreneurship, and we read about all these different things— But if you look at China, how well they do, how much they produce. I mean, they produce so many cars that they actually have competitions over who can produce the fewest cars because they have so many cars. You have to have great respect for China for the work they do. Whether you like them or not, you have to respect them."

fun fact: when the imf sugar baby babangida became military leader of nigeria, a university professor earned the naira equivalent of $30k, but after he rapidly implemented imf policies, within the first year of his administration the value of their naira earnings fell to ~$1k
Jostein Hauge@haugejostein

A new paper shows that neoliberal austerity policies implemented by the World Bank and the IMF in Sub-Saharan Africa in the 1980s and 1990s were associated with a *20% decline in real incomes.* The destruction caused by these organisations across the Global South is staggering.

@KstutisVai27005 @MikaelCBernard USA invaded because it chooses to. Violence is the central principle of the empire. China will take Taiwan and it won’t be in the way the west would do it. Because it’s wiser to do so without violence
