‘Fail fast’ is a misnomer. Sometimes you make a game prototype and realise it isn’t fun, or you identify a huge gameplay problem. A failed prototype is a huge success. You identified major problems before investing too heavily. You have excellent experience for the next step.

I really love 'Is This Seat Taken' from @_wholesomegames where the characters are squares, triangles, etc.... but it feels gross that the devs included racist characters! They even have them shouting abuse. How much are the levels going to lean into this?

@JazRignall I remember this issue!! You really tripped me up by calling it Famicom rather than Super Famicom!! Took me years to realise Famicom was something else, haha.

Rando Saturday Review: Super Tennis This really surprised us when it arrived on import in late 1991 for the machine we were still calling the "Famicom" - the SNES. It was excellent - and another strong indicator that this upcoming machine was going to be an absolute killer!

35 years ago, CVG reviewed Mr. Heli on PC Engine. Dunno why, but I had a completely irrational love for this brilliant but rock-freakin'-hard cute 'em up shooter, whose multidirectionally scrolling landscapes made it almost feel like an action adventure. Just top-top-tier fun.

Well, well, freakin' well. Acquired in the mid-80s at car boot sales for pennies. Packed in a box in 1988. Completely forgotten about until I just found them in the last, dusty box right in the back of my garage. Probably not hugely valuable, but will be fun to sort through!
