I started @TechmayorCo with $30 and a loan.
No — that's not a typo.
$30. And we took a loan to scale it.
We've been online for just 3 months and we already have 200+ learners on the platform.
I don't call it a startup because startups feel fragile. This thing is stable, self-funded, and it's only going up from here.
So what is Techmayor Co. actually?
We're a tech company built around one problem the cost of learning tech in Africa is too damn high.
And even when people manage to pay, they finish the course, get a certificate, and then what? Nothing.
Nobody to connect them to work. No community. No structure.
We looked at that and decided to solve the whole thing, not just part of it.
My team didn't sit down and count money. We counted people. How many can we reach if we price this right? That question built everything.
Here's what we have on the platform right now:
📚 THREE COURSE TIERS
→ Learn — ₦5,000
Basic entry point. Real tech skills. Price that won't make someone cry.
→ Learn Pro — ₦10,000
More depth, more industry focus. Still affordable enough that a student on allowance can manage it.
→ Web3 Space — ₦50,000
Blockchain, crypto, decentralised everything. For people who want to build in the next wave.
Every course isn't just videos you watch and forget.
Each one has modules, lessons, assignments, and classwork your instructor and their assistant physically review your work. And every course comes with a timeframe. You have a deadline to complete it.
That last part is intentional. We know how people buy courses online and abandon them. We built accountability into the product so that doesn't happen here.
🌐 IT'S A SOCIAL PLATFORM TOO
This is the part most people don't expect.
Everything you do on social media posting, connecting, engaging you can do all of that on our platform.
And you can make money as a student while you're still learning.
We built it that way on purpose. Learning alone is boring. Community changes everything.
🛒 TECH GADGETS STORE
We have an ecommerce store on the platform where students can buy the gadgets and tools they need.
Because what's the point of learning web development with no laptop or learning UI design with no equipment?
We put the store there so students don't have to go anywhere else.
🏗️ TECH SOLUTIONS
We build software for clients. Inventory systems, banking platforms, admin portals all custom.
This is how we keep the lights on and keep everything else affordable.
🏆 TALENT MARKETPLACE
This one is the part I'm most proud of.
When our students finish their courses, they don't get sent off into the wild alone.
We have our own talent marketplace where they list themselves and clients come to hire them.
It works like Upwork but it's designed specifically for people we trained. So clients already know the standard.
Our graduates already have a place to land.
Learn → Finish → Get hired.
That's the loop we built.
3 months. 200+ learners. 4 verticals. 0 investors.
We're not trying to be the biggest tech company in the world.
We just want every African student who wants to learn tech to have a real shot at it without breaking the bank or finishing and going nowhere.
