@ChadMoran Codex is actually surprisingly good for coding. GPT 5.4 sucks. Claude code is excellent

While I've been sick this week I've been running Claude and OpenAI side by side. The Codex desktop up is world-class. The diff viewer, inline comments, etc. So good. Both GPT-5.4 and Codex 5.3 continue to be mid. I'm gettin much better results consistently with Claude Code.

I really don't think they care about selling R1 at this point. R2 is the future and R1 is the past. HOWEVER, I will say that the model year cutover is probably coming in Summer - typically in the June/July timeframe. Once the 2027 R1s drop, we should start to see some decent incentives on 2026s.

In a world where companies are killing EVs and removing them from the US market, @Rivian is releasing the R2. Sad to see another EV bite the dust.

@ZachBeenvvr @RivianTrackr I’m sure most ppl will drop out of their reservation and probably even a large majority, but the demand will be very high against 25k. Rivian says they will be able to produce up to 175k R2s in Normal, which is ~450 daily. They left a huge buffer, they are just late to start it.

@evtech99 @RivianTrackr They guided for 25,000 R2s for 2026 and there currently is 292 days left in the year. As of today they need to produce 85 R2’s every day to meet that estimate.

@RivianTrackr @DavidMoss Yeah, it would be cool to have LiDAR for L3 and L4 but that’d probably not happening, at earliest late 2028 and and prob 2030 before it happens…. If ever. By then, Gen 3 is out of date too and they either out of business or on Gen 4

If you’re going to order, wait to get a Gen 3 later this year! Don’t be stuck on old autonomy architecture that’s replaced within the same calendar year as product launch

@RivianTrackr Does conserve mode disconnect the front motor and make it RWD only? Also, how much HP does the rear motor have vs the front?

I see this is where the money making potential is - ASP being higher with options. However, the included paint is pretty great on R2.

This R2 will be able to do everything the LiDAR version will be able to do including point to point. This was confirmed to me today.
