F1 have essentially no flywheel so stop spinning very quickly if lifting off. A stopped engine can lock the rear axle - it also happens with motorcycles, even road ones.

@LPrentice44 @PeteGeorgeCEnv @ryans2102 @matta_ale @LappedCars Omg do some research. In a moving car if you take foot of the throttle, the fuel supply is cut off, engine breaking happens and car slowly stops. Every modern car from last 30ish years, maybe longer does this.
