Hon. Mohammed Bello El-Rufai
In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful. A few hours ago, the Rt. Hon. Speaker of the 10th House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas GCON, announced my letter of resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and my formal move to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) at plenary. I am now a member of the ADC, and I will be seeking re‑election to continue representing the good people of Kaduna North Federal Constituency on this platform. I am joined in this new chapter by our respected elder, Hon. Engr. Suleiman Richifa, representing Soba, and my dear brother, Hon. Umar Ajilo, representing Makarfi/Kudan, who both defected from their previous parties to the African Democratic Congress. Together, we are building a home for progressive, people‑focused service. This decision was not taken lightly. As a proud son of Mallam Nasir @elrufai, I am guided by courage, conviction, and the unshakable belief that our people deserve the very best. To the people of Kaduna North: our work continues, and it will not stop. We will never compromise on delivering quality representation. There is still so much to do. By the grace of God, I will soon announce the ad hoc committee for the Primary Health Care initiative I unveiled last week. We will be equipping Primary Health Care Centres with medical supplies, starting with 1,000 syringes per PHC and other essential items. Phase I begins with two centres: Unguwar Sarki Ward and Badarawa/Malali Ward. May Allah SWT continue to guide us as we serve the people. And may He bless Nigeria with the best leaders. Signed Hon. Mohammed Bello El-Rufai Member. Kaduna North Federal Constituency Chairman, Committee on Banking Regulations. May 7, 2026.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has met with global investors in Paris, France, emphasising transparency and fiscal discipline, and explaining the rationale for the swift implementation of bold reforms.   At the meeting, the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr Taiwo Oyedele, highlighted Nigeria's strong GDP growth in dollar terms in 2025.   He said Nigeria recorded 11.2% GDP growth in dollar terms last year, a record that reinforced the country's ambition to achieve a $1 trillion economy in 2030.   Oyedele emphasised the government's near-term priorities of translating reforms into results for the Nigerian people. He also pledged to publish quarterly financial data.   The Director General of the Debt Management Office, Mrs Patience Oniha, assured investors of the government’s responsible approach to debt financing and its focus on sustainable debt management.   The investors were from Citibank and France's Amundi, led by Valerie Baudson. There were also BlueCrest, the Britain- and South Africa-based Ninety One, Kirkoswald Capital, Principal Finisterre, US groups Prudential Global Investment Management (PGIM) and Mesarete Capital.   President Tinubu, who left Nigeria on Sunday for a three-nation trip, said the economic reform program of his administration includes measures to remove economic distortions and stabilise macroeconomic indicators, laying the foundation for sustained inclusive growth.   He said his government is committed to deepening reforms, enhancing transparency across the oil value chain, and implementing a multi-pronged security strategy, including police decentralisation and disrupting terrorist financing.   "The focus remains on policy stability and diligent execution to ensure these strategic shifts translate into concrete benefits for all Nigerians", President Tinubu said.   Some of the investors who spoke at the meeting commended the government's transformative reforms and expressed optimism about the Nigerian economy.   One of the investors asked President Tinubu about his post-2027 agenda. He promised to strengthen fiscal discipline and transparency, and to deliver policy consistency. Bayo Onanuga Special Adviser to the President, (Information & Strategy)

🇨🇳🇳🇬 Nigeria, thanks to China, has started selling gasoline instead of just oil. China helped build the $20 billion Dangote Oil Refinery. As a result, approximately 44,000 barrels of gasoline were exported per day in March.

ADC/NDC: A BLESSING IN DISGUISE! With Obi and Kwankwaso aligning with the NDC, this shift could turn into an unintended advantage for the coalition. While many Nigerians, myself inclusive, had hoped for a single, united coalition, it’s reasonable to assume that Tinubu would have deployed every available resources at his disposal, including the courts, to keep the ADC off the ballot. But now, with the coalition effectively split into two blocs, ADC and NDC, that calculation changes. If Tinubu continues targeting the ADC alone, it would risk leaving the NDC, backed by Obi and Kwankwaso, as the sole opposition platform. That could prove politically costly for Tinubu. On the other hand, moving against both ADC and NDC would raise serious concerns domestically and internationally, potentially casting doubt on Nigeria’s democratic credibility in general. In that context, the more likely scenario i forsee happening, is that Tinubu allows both parties (ADC and NDC) to contest, resulting in a divided opposition heading into 2027. If that happens, we may see a repeat of the 2023 pattern at the presidential level (Cos this will definitely favour Tinubu) while ADC and NDC make significant gains in National Assembly races, particularly across the North and East. Regardless of how this unfolds, I remain committed to the ADC. My hope is that both ADC and NDC will dial down tensions and keep sight of a broader objective. Politics has a way of bringing unlikely partners back to the table, and cooperation, in one form or another, may yet prove necessary! Salihu Tanko Yakasai, Arise and shine, Nigeria 🤝

President Tinubu's style of politics is revealing the true nature of Nigerian politicians in its RAW form. As a young person, open your third eye and learn. Lots of lessons and parables.
