Thank you to the lovely audience member at @hayfestival who shared that her daughter had once corrected her pronunciation of ‘epiphany’ and told her it should of course be ‘epi-fanny’. Which word have you royally mispronounced because you’d only ever seen it written down?

Coldcut in Dublin - May 1989. Some deadly nights in there. Funk, Hip Hop, Go-Go & House all played back to back. I remember Ice T 'Hunted child' being mixed into a Todd Terry record. Can't see that happening nowadays. I opened for them that night 😇 McGonagles was the spot 🫡

Don't know how to feel. Labour victory isn't a shift to the Left, it's the Tories losing out to Reform. The nazis are here, sat at the table and ready to consume everything not nailed down. And they have Putin and the American Libertarians behind them now more than ever. The Tories are not gone, they will be sat in opposition, scheming and lying and sabotaging. I don't like seeing the SNP watered down either. It feels like a pyrrhic victory this morning. Maybe I will feel better later.
