This is one the biggest, and most problematic, differences between US and European Tech:
When Skype was acquired it created 11 millionaires.
When PayPal was acquired it created over 100 millionaires.
Skype was acquired for $8bn while PayPal was acquired $1.5bn.
The stock compensation packages between the US and Europe are night and day.
It is changing slowly but there is still a long way to go.

There are so many talking points with this Liverpool team right now.
Arne Slot – the team looks terribly coached. The football is dull and, if we’re honest, he’s not exactly the most likeable character either.
Alisson – feels like he’s at the stage where he costs us as many points as he saves.
Frimpong – four hamstring injuries this season.
Bradley – constantly injured, just can’t stay fit.
Gomez – 11 years at the club and still unreliable. Struggles with fitness and can’t find any consistent form.
Konaté – contract expires this summer.
Van Dijk – turns 35 in the summer and is on £400k a week.
Robertson – vice-captain and his contract runs out in the summer.
Endō – simply not good enough.
Mac Allister – no pace, no power, no agility, no physicality. Looks like his legs have gone.
Jones – eight seasons since his debut and he’s still just a squad player. That tells you everything.
Wirtz – £115m and only four league goals. A massive disappointment.
Salah – huge drop-off. Five league goals while earning £400k a week isn’t good value.
