@NotATeslaApp @wholemars I don’t understand people who say this. Your HW3 car was broken. I’ve driven plenty of HW4 cars and when I go back to HW3 it drives just fine. My HW3 car is plenty smooth, doesn’t do the steering shake, doesn’t have much indecisiveness.

@wholemars Man, after using FSD v14 for a while, going back to v12 on HW3 seems unusable. V14 is so smooth.

My Uber driver is using FSD 12. Definitely a better ride than most Uber drivers

@briandstone All of this is ridiculous. I’ve had sports cars since I could drive and now have the Tesla and while the Tesla has been the most expensive, I only pay $150/month with $200 deductible and towing and rental car coverage

Why in the world is Consumer Reports quoting these insane, unrealistic insurance rates for Teslas? I’ve never heard of anyone paying $400/mo to insure a Model 3.

@Waymo in Dallas. My nephew's first ride in a fully autonomous vehicle. He lasted about 10 seconds before going back to his phone. Completely comfortable immediately. The driving was good enough. Stayed in the outside lane which was beat up with potholes. Room for improvement there. But having an autonomous service available in Dallas is a win and I can’t wait for more services soon!

@JCChristopher I wish I had my HW3 car to test this with. I’m literally like an hour away from there currently at work.

I went to the exact same location of the Cybertruck accident shown in the Fox News video. This is the US-69/59 Eastex Freeway northbound HOV lane at the Y-split near the Eastex Park & Ride exit (approaching from downtown Houston toward Humble). In the Fox News video, the vehicle failed to follow the right curve, going straight into the barrier. Well, I tested it twice today with Tesla FSD engaged the entire time with zero human intervention. And unless you think I am a hologram speaking to you from another dimension now, it worked out really well. Here is the video of me taking the exact same curve twice, with Tesla FSD v14.2.2.5.

FSD v14 Lite: @elonmusk & @aelluswamy, is there an update you can share on the progress of FSD v14 Lite for HW3 vehicles?

@NotATeslaApp @elonmusk @aelluswamy Here’s an update buy a new S3XY vehicle 😂 if you really want it. 12.6.4 is sufficient and less buggy more predictable. Better than v 13 in my opinion. V14 is a nice and smooth parks and un-parks. Although, it’s definitely not perfect and makes mistakes so far.

@wholemars @future_yas I think what happened is the driver is fairly new to FSD & saw the curve coming & had their foot over the brake & touched it & unknowingly disengaged FSD. 4 seconds is plenty of time to react if you knowingly disengaged.

In the eyes of Tesla stans FSD is never at fault. If the logs showed that FSD was engaged the whole time, they would complain and say that the driver should have taken over.

@Deandawiz There’s been proven evidence of people taking US Teslas to other countries and FSD working there too. Nobody else is even in the same universe. Then we got Rivian who is just now trying to do what Tesla has been doing for a decade and failing.

You can’t plop a waymo anywhere and expect it to drive smoothly and confidently. It relies heavily on its Lidar+Radar sensor suite Its sensor suite relies heavily on HD mapping. you can plop a Tesla *checks notes* literally anywhere and it will drive and figure shit out just by looking at the world with its cameras **JUST LIKE WE DO**

@Mudkatt @JCChristopher @SawyerMerritt This is the exact reason why I’ll be moving my registration and license back to Colorado from NC. I still have a residence out there and just keep my Tesla registered there. $250/year vs almost $1k/year for a 7 year old car.

@JCChristopher @SawyerMerritt EVs should not and will not make up even most cars on the road. This is nothing more than a tactic to try to kill EVs before they even take off. The states already bulked up the registration cost for this same reason.

@JimAlger @SawyerMerritt 2/2 You would have to drive like 150k miles a year in a Corolla to equal what we pay in “gas tax” if they add an additional fee. It’s ridiculous and only used to squeeze money out of us. Not to mention this would drive my yearly taxes on a 7 year old car to almost $1k. Ridiculous

@JimAlger @SawyerMerritt The problem isn’t that we have to pay a gas tax, most states have an “EV tax” to make up for that. It’s the amount. So on top of the $250 I pay just in EV tax I have to pay another $250. Then I have to pay taxes on my electricity I put into the vehicle. 1/2

@SawyerMerritt I already pay unreasonably high taxes for my car. My renewal on my 2019 is going to end up near $1k a year….
