@Noahpinion I think you are missing an important aspect about Anthropic and OpenAI. The former primarily makes money with a B2B model, hence "doomerism" is their sales pitch. It's arguably their entire business model. OAI is primarily B2C today.

Ugo Humbert just dropped a tiebreaker he was leading to a severely injured and completely immobile Terence Atmane, what in the actual world just happened?

You knew it was just a matter of time until Dalton Rushing gets a ball thrown at him. Thoughts?

@WadeMiller Great post, though it also shows the value of more/better sensors on self driving vehicles.

I bought a Tesla. Never thought I’d get an electric vehicle, but took a ride in a buddy’s Tesla and changed my mind. I’ve been using the supervised self-driving mode for my daily commute into DC. It’s pretty amazing. Today the car suddenly moved into the left lane, very abruptly. In that split second a very large piece of debris blew into the lane I had been in. The Tesla self driving system saw what I couldn’t see. When I drive I can only see from the perspective of the driver side front seat. The Tesla has multiple censors with different angles of view. It saw what I couldn’t. Importantly, even I I had seen it at the same time, the split second that it would have taken me to check blind spots and then consciously make the decision to move over would have taken too long. The Tesla knew all these variables simultaneously and almost instantly and was able to avoid impact safely. Well done @elonmusk and @Tesla team.

This is the "short course" at Hamilton Farm Golf Club in New Jersey. It is par 54, 3080 yards from the tips, with a course rating of 56.9. Nine holes are over 170 yards, with four holes playing 200+. The greens and surrounding complexes are outstanding. It is set on a massive area of the property and there are no holes on top of each other. I could play 90% of my rounds on this course and be happy.

This weekend I was at what might be the best 18-hole par 3 course in the country. Pic of every hole below👇

@JigarShahDC This is actually the only one where there is no line of sight on the solution. You could remove every legal limitation (zoning, permitting, etc.) and there is still no clear path forward.

From @TheAthleticFC: New Jersey Transit confirmed on Friday that World Cup match goers will be charged $150 for a return rail trip from New York's Penn Station to MetLife Stadium in New Jersey this summer. Tickets are ordinarily priced at $12.90. nyti.ms/4sHcLzR

@SteveKornacki The lower the voter turnout, the bigger the skew to the left. It's been this way for awhile folks.

About 95% of the vote is counted in NJ-11 and Analilia Mejia's lead is just under 20 points. This will be yet another Democratic overperformance in a House special election - currently a net 10-point improvement vs. the '24 WH result in the district. But this is likely to be the smallest. Previously, the range of overperformance has been between 13 (TN-7) and 25 (GA-14) points. In particular tonight, there have been clear pockets of resistance to Mejia in Livingston and Millburn, two large typically Democratic towns with large Jewish populations that may be uncomfortable with Mejia's left wing politics, particularly on Israel.
