Nobody seems to talk about these clips, so I’m going to! I firmly believe these are a “sequel” to 7R. More specifically, I think these clips bridge the gap between OG & when 7R starts. “Hope can turn your dreams into reality” is going to be the core & origin of 7R!

I just think these clips are very interesting and have a lot of implications for 7R—not just how it all began, but what the story is all about this time. And it’s a shame I don’t see more people talking about them!

A big part of OG FFVII is subverting player expectations. They did it so well in ReTrilogy that some people believe its a Sequel. Those are the ones whos minds will be blown the most when its actually a Remake because they cant even wrap their head around other possibilities.

@Ght16Miguel @_SpyDtroid_ Right, Omni!Aerith is OG Aerith, it's the same Aerith we see at the end of OG and in Advent Children. I suspect, given how the Lifestream works, any Aerith with the White Materia would be "aware" of this, so I guess the "speak" in this way? They are the same person, after all.

DAMN AERITH IS ACTUALLY JUST FULL ON CONFESSING TO CLOUD?? AND, not only that, I find it heartbreaking that she tells Cloud not to fall in love with her, and that those feelings aren’t real. She has to know how her fate ends right? Is this her preparing him for it?

@KenMastersUSA @ffSteeD27 Midgar living in harmony and AC happening are not mutually exclusive. Both can happen. Explain to me why AC happening and then within 500 years Midgar finds a way to live in harmony with the planet are exclusive?

I am really asking a genuine question guys. As @LandiLodge pointed out, if love for someone to explain to me how ACC can be *inauthentic* and *unofficial* to 7R, yet still be a future that the story wants to avoid in-universe.

If we end up with Midgar preserved, and living in harmony with the Planet (changing OG'd ending as you put it) then I think that's exactly the same thing that every timeliner is saying -- we avoided Advent Children. Advent Children's setting and setup is completely averted. No Geostigma, no decay, no dystopia. I don't think anyone would ~want~ to live through that; Cloud certainly didn't. As to the memories that we're shown, yes the party does see Advent Children and Cloud see's Aerith's death. All of these things are things one would ~want~ to avoid. Aerith's death, if you believe she is dead, did not happen in the same way. You saw, and I saw, Cloud intervened this time. He stopped Sephiroth's sword. That did happen, right? However, some timeline/many world shenanigans happened (convergence) and she died in Beagle's continuity. But you have to acknowledge this isn't what happened in OG, agreed? The Nanaki scene btw, links OG and AC, it's in both. It's how OG ends, it's how AC begins. The Cloud vs Sephiroth scene is literally ripped from Advent Children. We're fighting the advents of Kadaj, Loz, and Yazoo from Advent Children. The scan data for them reads: "An entity from a future timeline [AC] that has manifested in the present day. It fights with [insert respectively identifying weapon] to protect the future that gave shape to it." As this fight progresses, that's where we see these Advent Children ~and~ OG scenes that are meant to be avoided. The Harbinger itself btw, reads: ".. the creature appears when someone tries to alter destiny's course. They are connected to ALL THE THREADS [read: worlds] OF TIME AND SPACE that shape the Planet's fate." Recall, the FF7 Remake Ultimania states this fate, explicitly, is the ending of the original Final Fantasy VII. We see this demonstrated in game. Sephiroth demonstrates this to us by killing Barret, only for him to be immediately resurrected as though nothing happens. And my emphasis here is because BEFORE we entered the Singularity we see Zack prior to his last stand. He's looking at Midgar and it's surrounded by Whispers (think of the time difference here). Defeating the Arbiters of Fate is what ALLOWS him to be saved and brought to the Terrier verse. This is what Aerith is talking about when she says what lies beyond the portal is "Freedom. Boundless, terrifying freedom." By following Sephiroth into an obvious trap, with obvious bait, she knows that defeating him could result in a far worse outcome for everyone and the Planet than Advent Children ~ but it's worth it anyway. The only reason to do that is if you perceive that reality, that existence, to be worth the risk in order to avoid it.

The thing about ripping the bandaid off early would be that it wouldn't be a solid remake experience. If it's at the end, we've got our remake experience already. Win-win.

Hamaguchi basically confirms that Final Fantasy VII Remake Series is just a Reimagining of the classic 1997 OG FF7 title. I will say that he needs to stop talking or he will spoil the game before launch. Now we can bury the sequel and requel theories for good now. 😌🔥🔥

@KenMastersUSA If it's a multiverse: Now that the first loop is broken, a new branching loop has been created, right? What stops Sephiroth (or anyone else) from breaking this loop in the future when they realize it didn't work out for them? Do we end up with infinite loops?

Maybe that explains the interviews. Hamaguchi is prepping the expectations. This isn't OG. It's not going to be OG. They've laid things out VERY clearly and if you still expect things to remain the same as OG and get disappointed, you have no one to blame but yourself.

@oathgate1 Into Aerith (our Aerith) ,OG Aerith, resolution scene, Zack's world Aerith, Dream date Aerith, Final rebirth boss fight Aerith (I think she is our Aerith tbh) ... reunion of worlds probably puts all them together. Who knows. Let's wait for 2027. It's a mystery.
