Everyone says hire slow and fire fast.
We do the opposite. We hire fast and do our best to develop people and give them every opportunity to be successful.
Last month, a new tech had a tough first day on his own and didn’t show up for day two. Most companies would fire him immediately.
We talked to him, said we believed in him, and wanted to work together. He’s been a great employee and addition to the team.
Yesterday after the team bbq, he thanked us for treating him like a human being and gave me and my business partner a bunch of plants.
Firing slow has given us some headaches but it has also been one of the most rewarding parts of running our business.

We had a company bbq today to celebrate a record month in May.
87% year over year increase means ribeyes for everyone. Smoked in the traeger then seared in the grill.
We made 18 of these bad boys for employees and their spouses at our first location.
Also broke out the old school coke cooler.
We’ve doubled revenue every year for 4 years. Year 5 looks to be no different.

@WarhorseDiv Rule #1 in life- never sell a full size pickup
English

I own 2 paid off vehicles, a 2011 Mazda (daily driver) and a 2014 Silverado 1500 (weekend/getaway truck). Zero payments on both.
Should I sell the truck or the daily to build cash reserves for my next rental property?
The truck is sitting most of the week. That freed up cash could be working harder for me.
What would you do?
English

@coldcutsenjoyer If you get a cold call trying to buy you they’re gonna give a low offer. We were hearing around 1x revenue.
At that size you should get 1.5-2x.
You dm me lol
English

@pestctrlguy What was the multiple on 750k in rev if you don’t mind sharing?
I have a certain number in mind I want to hit that’s a good bit lower than yours. Trying to work out the backwards math for what I need to achieve and growth goals
Dm me, I’m in week 3 now
English

When we were doing less than $1 million in revenue we were getting calls from searchers and PE companies every few weeks asking if we wanted to sell.
We haven’t had that happen once in the last 8 months.
Has the market cooled off or have we just successfully told enough people we are asking $12 million?
And that is true. We are for sale for $12 million. When we get that offer we will accept it. Whether that’s tomorrow or 10 years from now.
English

@LoganARobison @contractorkeith Except most people will develop a skill while working at a reputable company and then go out and start their own.
A lot of people now are just starting businesses they think would be good and can’t actually perform the service
English

@contractorkeith Lol yes but that same can be true of any business. No one starts a business unless they’ve heard it could make money
English

Start a concrete company:
- Guy #1: took our $650 deposit and ran. Hasn’t responded to texts or threats
- Guy #2: paid $1,850. Did piers instead of footers. First pour was uneven. Came back and added a second layer to level it out. Started cracking after 2 days. Refunded 1/2
How did we get so unlucky? We just wanted a bigger patio

English

@themfgfellow @KrissBergTweets We ask at the door step after every visit.
We have an automated email that sends them a link a few hours later.
We send a mass email once a year asking for feedback and put the link in there as well.
English

@pestctrlguy @KrissBergTweets How do you guys do it, I’m sitting at 51 😔
English

@pepewololo @iamd2dguy Sorry I’ll joke with my cousin on the internet differently so I don’t hurt your feelings during pride month
English

@mroventures It’s not a fair price today. That’s why we haven’t sold
English

@pestctrlguy If you are for sale today for $12 million and that’s a fair price, it’s more likely that your company would be worth $24 million in 10 years. Revenues would increase due to sales growth and inflation. Your EBITDA will be higher, thus the fair market value is higher.
English

@iamd2dguy I appreciate you being my personal assistant but please try not to toot your own horn
English

@pestctrlguy Maybe the office gatekeepers just keep getting better 🤷♂️
English

@KrissBergTweets That’s crazy. I’ve got a guy averaging 60 a month by himself right now.
English

@pestctrlguy We tried $10 for years and it wasn’t working
English

@multifam_mike @capabamma We’re gonna do $3.5 mm in revenue this year. I’ve seen pest companies in this range go for 3-4x revenue before. It’s the high end but it’s not unheard of.
English

@capabamma @pestctrlguy I think $12M means fuck off in the scenario.
English

@KatyBasinger The truth is I’m 27. If somebody me and Kyle $12 mm to split, idk if I could take it because idk what I’d do for the next 50 years
English

@pestctrlguy $12m in the next 12-36 months heck yes. 🤑
$12m shouldn’t be the price tag in 5 years or even 10 years with your growth and revenue. 😉 .
English

@coldcutsenjoyer No. Is it worth my time?
English

@pestctrlguy And you don’t need to do $49 initials to get a sale.
