@Baby_Belluga22 @cornerrihaunt Totally respect it. 8.5 is a high score and close to my 9. I read the book when it first came out years ago and I’d wager my lack of proximity to its minutiae is partially responsible for the differences of our perspectives.
English

@robhueter @cornerrihaunt Honestly I would rate it an 8.5/10. Would definitely still recommend it to people. The movie was 90% faithful to the book. I just take issue with the 10% they missed or changed. But altogether its minor issues. I also think they took a lot of emotion out of the ending

English

@Baby_Belluga22 @cornerrihaunt Clearly your expectations were not met. That’s a completely personal stake that is impossible to argue. All I can say is that they did, in fact, establish he is not a traditional hero by the reveal that he refused but was forced to be one. You can’t do any book 100% on film.
English

@robhueter @cornerrihaunt "Keeping him likeable to audiences" was the issue. Hes not a classic hero. The audience builds a version of him in their heads (as does Grace) and this is supposed to be his "fall". They completely missed the mark with the reveal in the movie and Disney-fied it. Same with Stratt
English

@Baby_Belluga22 @cornerrihaunt There are a million decisions that have to be made in adaptations. A book can just go deeper on every level than a film. I read this and imagine the film and I don't like it as much. They found a balance between the reveal of his reluctance and keeping him likable to audiences.
English

@robhueter @cornerrihaunt Yes they made an imperfect adaptation of Project Hail Mary. Take the following scene for example. They watered it down and made it comedic. I'm not saying it was a bad movie, because it wasnt, it was awesome. But it doesnt match the tone of the stakes that the book makes you feel

English

@LedyardNFLDraft They won't. He will be a Jets pick at 2, he will underwhelm his rookie year on the edge, it'll take a new coaching staff to try him at off-ball linebacker.... and he will be expected to say thank you sir may I have another!
English

@Baby_Belluga22 @cornerrihaunt The problem isn't the film itself, it is your pre-viewing comparison to other films. They didn't make Interstellar, they made Project Hail Mary. There are several points in the movie where the conclusion isn't inevitable and there are clear stakes present.
English

@cornerrihaunt There are stakes but the tone of the movie doesnt make the audience feel it. Its too comedic and happy-go-lucky. At no point does it make you feel the struggle like in Interstellar or the Martian where its a fight tooth and nail to succeed other than maybe the fishing scene
English

@gregauman Changing of the Guard (except somehow with the same Guard)
English

@JCAllenNFL The HBO primetime coloring and production quality almost harms it in that way. To be fair, it was already impossible that the movies even hit the perfect phases, feel, tone, and director hires like they did in the first place.
English

Not sure how I feel about this yet…

First trailer for the ‘HARRY POTTER’ series. Releasing this Christmas on HBO.
English

@TierZoo 2 things: They had to place the comedy between Grace and Rocky because it was an almost insurmountable task to make a faceless rock spider alien beloved by audiences otherwise. Also, I get ppl wanting deeper science like the book, but they had to find balance for sake of pace.
English

Project Hail Mary review:
1: Best movie I've seen in quite some time
2: I wish I vibed with the Rocky/Grace humor more. I've not read the book since 2021 but from what I remember, I felt like the bulk of the comedic lines were between Grace and Stratt, not Grace and Rocky. Grace and Rocky had a more serious friendship in the book. Movie rocky feels like he is teetering on the edge of Big Bang Theory humor at times.
3: I was bummed we didn't get to watch them nuke antarctica
4: Them leaving out relativistic explanations for Grace not aging and Rocky having extra fuel was frustrating.
English

@RojasTalksTampa Great now do solo tackles, FFs and total TOs... you know, impact plays! Clears them in it all (especially FFs, more than double them combined)
English

Lavonte David - 177 Carter tackles for loss 🤯
Bobby Wagner - 107 career TFLs
Luke Kuechly - 75 career TFLs

Josh Crysler@josh_crysler
Throughout his career, Lavonte David performed on par with Bobby Wagner and Luke Kuechly, but earned FAR less national recognition. One of the most criminally underrated players ever, but he was consistently a steady, elite presence for the Bucs and he deserves his flowers.
English

@RealBucsTalk Already stated the yet unsigned vet and understand the investment. Not arguing with that. My issue is that we just saw a bad Zyon and we don't even know if BMo can play, let alone his glaring injury risk. Our outside CB is about as precarious a situation as you can possibly get
English

@robhueter I would expect them to add a veteran Corner post draft. Signed Zyon, drafted Morrison to replace Dean. Parrish. Tykee year before. Winfield. Those have to play and be on field. Better front seven helps a lot for the back end.
English

Saw the same and would make sense for Tampa if they wait on Edge until day 2.
Benjamin Solak@BenjaminSolak
I'm irrationally in on Gabe Jacas. Hoss. Not twitchy enough to be an elite sack guy but he's a great power rusher with good football IQ and spectacular effort. Gimme gimme gimme.
English

@FantasyGod03 @FantasyPros @LucasWencl Inevitably, it will be a split so I think the most important factor will be the GL carries. I have a feeling that's going to go to CRod. We will see.
English

@robhueter @FantasyPros @LucasWencl Yeah probably. Can see it being 40-40-20 split most of the year. With game script or hot hand determining who gets most of the run each week.
English

@FantasyGod03 @FantasyPros @LucasWencl 2yr, $10mil contract and claims of "superhero" for Chris Rodriguez sounds like the build for a classic fantasy situation where the coaches play the vet over the young guy. Either way, those two taking snaps away while LeQuint Allen takes some passing downs sounds like a no for me
English

@FantasyPros @LucasWencl Tuten, but have a feeling this backfield will be a headache for fantasy all 2026
English

@RealBucsTalk How are we supposed to roll out Zyon and BMo and just call it a day? Parrish (I like at NCB not outside) and a yet unsigned vet sounds like disaster depth, and I will not watch Hayes play defensive snaps again 😓 DL room is almost safer than CB room right now.
English

@robhueter That’s where they are. They will invest at Edge, IDL, LB via draft. Already invested into the secondary last year. Those players have to perform. Yaya, Vea, Kancey, Winfield, Zyon, Tykee have to perform and be on field.
English

@MLFootball @SoonersInsider @StankBastard @DJBucsFan @SaltyBuc91 @AllAboutBucs @REFLOG18 @Gbush91 @brownsfanuk @NickPedone12 Obvious engagement post with those completely made up numbers
English

🚨PROJECTION: Tampa Bay #Buccaneers superstar quarterback Baker Mayfield is projected to sign a four-year, 251 MILLION DOLLAR extension.
This is an average annual value of 62.75 million: This would make Baker the highest-paid player in league history.
Baker is a 2x Pro Bowler.

English

@RealBucsTalk We're a yearly Calijah injury away from DL need (although I like Roberts) and there is no way to be confident in our outside corners. Zyon underperformed last year and we have no idea who BMo is or if he can stay healthy.
English

@robhueter Need another Edge and LB. Everything else is in place. Better injury luck would go a long way. Better OC will help the defense as well. Complementary football.
English

@JustBlande Bills fans definitely have something to say about that
English

@T3Jab No right answer really, but give me prime Von Miller in that single play pass rush situation. JJ and Myles easily clear him in total run/pass ability, though.
