தமிழ்நாட்டில் குழந்தைகளுக்கு எதிரான குற்றங்களை, எந்தக் கட்சி ஆட்சியில் இருந்தாலும், அரசியல் கண்ணோட்டமின்றி ஒரு மாநிலப் பொறுப்பாக அணுக வேண்டும். ஒவ்வொரு சம்பவத்திற்குப் பின்னாலும் வாழ்நாள் முழுவதும் மன உளைச்சலுடன் வாழ வேண்டிய ஒரு அப்பாவி குழந்தை இருக்கிறது. நம் குழந்தைகளின் பாதுகாப்பை விட அரசியல் முக்கியமானதாக இருக்கக் கூடாது. 2,500 பேர் கொண்ட சிங்கப்பெண் சிறப்புப் படையால் மட்டுமே 8 கோடிக்கும் மேற்பட்ட மக்களைக் கொண்ட தமிழ்நாட்டை முழுமையாக கண்காணிக்க முடியாது. இது அனைவரின் ஒத்துழைப்பையும் தேவைப்படுத்துகிறது: • குழந்தைகள் – விழிப்புணர்வு மற்றும் பாதுகாப்புக் கல்வி • பெற்றோர் – கண்காணிப்பும் தொடர்ந்த உரையாடலும் • பள்ளிகள் & கல்லூரிகள் – தடுப்பு நடவடிக்கைகள் மற்றும் புகார் அமைப்புகள் • சமூகம் – விழிப்புணர்வும் பொறுப்புணர்வும் • அரசு & காவல்துறை – விரைவு நடவடிக்கை, தொழில்நுட்பம் மற்றும் கடுமையான அமலாக்கம் அடுத்த தலைமுறையின் பாதுகாப்பை உறுதி செய்ய முடியாத நிலையில், வளர்ச்சியையும் பொருளாதார முன்னேற்றத்தையும் கொண்டாடுவதில் பெருமை இல்லை. நம் குழந்தைகளுக்கு வாய்ப்புகள் மட்டுமல்ல, பாதுகாப்பும் தேவை.

Agreed that TVK needs to fight for higher tax devolution and grants from the Centre. Despite contributing significantly in terms of export GDP, Tamil Nadu’s return is low. He rightly raised it with the Centre for more infrastructure-related grants during NITI Aayog. The tone and push need to be harder. That said, the white paper depicts only the current status and not a planning report for the way forward. These own lavish welfare schemes were announced by both DMK and ADMK as well. If they had to met their promises, it would have increased the debt from current levels. It’s okay to delay or reject the lavish plans despite promises and even revisit existing ones to reach true beneficiaries. The government needs to acknowledge the gap, which it did. Now it needs to revisit plans and come up with a planning report for the way forward. It would have been interesting if other political parties or analysts had explained how they would have fulfilled all their promises without additional debt burden.

TVK’s white paper, is a politically motivated distraction designed to mask the ruling party’s administrative unpreparedness and lack of a concrete revenue generation roadmap. While diagnosing corruption on paper is easy, running a complex state economy requires sound fiscal governance rather than theatrical reports. TVK is simply using inheritance debt as a convenient shield to escape public accountability and delay its own lavish, unfeasible pre election welfare promises. Furthermore, the highlighted debt is not fiscal waste but productive capital invested in world-class infrastructure, industrial corridors, and pioneering social safety nets like the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai. By completely ignoring the Union Government's structural fiscal starvation which returns just 29 paise for every rupee Tamil Nadu contributes the white paper exposes its reliance on flawed economic math and political optics over genuine financial solutions . A real strategy requires confronting this massive federal tax injustice, not just recycling anti-corruption rhetoric. True statesmanship demands fighting for Tamil Nadu's rightful revenue share to build a sustainable, self-reliant economy rather than playing blame games.

I am not speaking pro-TVK here. But the debt keeps accumulating. You can't pay more than 30% of income as interest payments and still borrow for the state's normal expenditure. At some point, you have to increase the burden on people through taxes. Personally, I don't see much difference in policies between TVK, DMK, and ADMK. They follow a similar pattern. Vijay claims he will assure cleaner execution without leakages, but they have to prove it in action. I feel both the DMK and ADMK ecosystems are very spoiled, so even good steps taken don't reach end consumers.

@skillyskulll @ANI So how does that make Vijay different from the others ? The one thing he is claiming is he is here to provide change. But follows the same policy , actually more unrealistic promises than the DMK.

Brother, all these freebie promises were made by DMK and ADMK as well. It's not only TVK that promised them. Anyone who came to power would have faced the same problem. I am not against welfare schemes, but restrict them to true beneficiaries, fix the fiscal situation, and then decide on new welfare policies.

Also, every year silently schools are charging extra ₹ in the name of development fees from parents. It’s happening in almost all leading private schools. How to stop this!? Serious audit and monitoring must happen!

Rs 2-3 lakh was the bribe rate to be paid by private schools to get renewal for recognition. Bribe rate to get NOC for CBSE schools was Rs 30 lakh. Private school associations welcome @imrajmohan announcement on no more bribes and getting NOC online from July 1. Now the ball is in your court, schoools. You need to reduce school fees, which is a major source of anxiety for thousands of families.

Actually, only Vijayabaskar is expected to join in the presence of Vijay. After that, other loyalists and many supporters will join the TVK in an event that will be held at Pudukkottai in a grand fashion, sources close to the ex minister inform me. All this given there is no last minute twist and thinks otherwise about joining TVK.

The Finance Minister should also have addressed key issues in the White Paper, including GST, the Union Government's discriminatory tax devolution, the withholding of funds when Tamil Nadu refuses to implement schemes it opposes on policy grounds, delays in releasing funds that are rightfully due to the State, and the unequal allocation of funds among States. There is also a major reason why these issues were not discussed. Raising them would require the TVK government to clearly spell out its own policy framework. Until the government's policy position is made explicit, any report it releases will fail to reflect the full reality of the situation. Time will tell. #WhitePaper

Gujarat has a purely capital-driven economy and supports relevant industries. Tamil Nadu’s model of governance is both export-focused and a human resource development model. Gujarat lags behind in many social factors as well compared to TN. The white paper only compared economic factors between those top states, not social factors. Its objective is to show TN fiscal status and areas to improve revenue receipts, not a comparison or benchmarking report. It is not a Planning Commission report covering all metrics.
