I can rattle off loads of reasons why mail-in voting en masse is not secure. 1) Pressure from someone else to vote a certain way. Imagine an overbearing husband pressuring a wife to vote a certain way, for example. 2) Post offices that are heavily one party over another -- ballots get "lost" which damages that one party. 3) Out of date records causing ballot to be mailed to wrong address and is filled out anyway by someone else. 4) Coordinated effort to print fake ballots by someone who creates the ballots and then fills them in to mail them. Fraud can happen that benefits either party. People's trust in fair and accurate elections is vital to any democracy.

@Erin04286 @Aku_700 “Use current data” — victims of rape live with it for their entire lives. It’s current every day. Fuck off saying it’s not a big deal since it was 10 years ago.

This tweet is framed as if this just happened. The case is from June 19, 2014, over a decade ago. The location was Järvafältet outside Stockholm. It's a horrific, real case, but presenting it without a date alongside 'this keeps happening' and 'protect our daughters' is a deliberate framing choice to make it feel current. If the goal is an honest conversation about immigration and sexual violence in Sweden, use current data. If the goal is to maximize outrage and engagement, strip the date and let people assume it was yesterday. One is journalism. The other is manipulation using a real victim's suffering as content.

A Swedish teen raped for hours by a group of immigrants. Gun in her mouth, then shoved into her v€gina. Clothes covered in blood. The doctors had never seen anything like it. Look at these bloodstained clothes… they’re hers. This kind of horror didn’t exist before mass immigration. And it keeps happening. Protect our daughters.

@EricLDaugh These comparisons always highlight the most provocative example rather than the typical one. The question is what the average refugee household looks like economically, not the most sensational anecdote.

🚨 JUST IN: Stephen Miller lays it out PERFECTLY Imagine a "native Minnesotan who works as a lineman...worried about his ability to support for and provide his family." "And then imagine that he has a neighbor who's a SOMALI REFUGEE who arrived two years ago and has a Mercedes and NO financial stress and no worries at all in the entire world and never seems to ever go to work at all because he just went to an office in the state, lied on a piece of paper, and got unlimited free money forever for life!" "THAT is the system that is being run and that is the corruption that this task force under the leadership of the Vice President is going to demolish." @StephenM

Republicans passed a law that gives ICE agents a $10,000 bonus every year for the next four years. Those same Republicans are blocking a vote to pay TSA officers anything at all.

I hated Obama but I still cheered when Osama Bin Laden was taken out. Why don’t liberals feel the same way when Trump takes out Maduro and Khamenei?

I don't get it. The same generation that can't watch a video for more than 15 seconds without getting bored and swiping off will watch a streamer playing a game or doing some podcast for hours. Make it make sense.

a freeway costs $50-200 million per mile to build and we don't ask it to turn a profit. a train line proposes the same price tag and suddenly it needs to be self-funding by 2031. the infrastructure we subsidize reveals what we value and we have chosen the car every single time

🔥🔥🔥I spent the day at JFK photographing the ICE agents standing around, when I left, I was on the Air train with a bunch of TSA agents and they were so freaking mad that they hadn’t been paid in over a month and these guys were getting paid for doing nothing, and I mean nothing. If you would like to support my work, I’m self funded, and if Trump can ask for money, so can I! Getting a little lean over here. Ways to help in my profile ❤️📸🎬🎥

@ForgiatoBlow47 100% of Muslims should learn to respect other religions or non-believers and live and let live. If they did that, no one would care about them.

@NoVA_Campaigns @MarkWarner Republicans need to cross over in the primaries and vote for that guy, then vote R in the general. That way if they lose to Moran, it at least won't be as bad as Warner.

Democrats have been blocked from passing funding for DHS agencies 7 times. Trump needs to stop playing partisan games at the expense of federal workers and the safety and convenience of the American people. It’s past time to fund TSA and other DHS agencies and implement common sense reforms to ICE and CBP.

Plenty of hysteria around Restore Britain's policy on banning the burqa. Misinformation is rife, and I want to officially correct the record. We'd ban the niqab too.

Today, I voted for the seventh time to reopen TSA and pay our agents and workers. Again, Republicans blocked it. They continue to hold TSA workers and American travelers hostage to protect ICE. We need to set ICE aside while we negotiate for needed reforms, and fund all other elements of DHS: TSA, Coast Guard, CBP, and FEMA.

Khamenei was stopping the IRGC from Building IBMs, but you nasty people killed him, now in three weeks and during wartime IRGC managed to build and use intermediate ballistic missiles. Primary school level of analysis by Aaron here.
Aaron Bastani@AaronBastani

Khameini had a fatwa against intermediate missiles. They were purely defensive and for the region. Israel and the US killed him. The reality is Netanyahu and Trump have started something which could end in Tehran having nukes & icbms. A complete failure of statecraft.

Earlier this week, I broke fast at Rikers Island with New Yorkers in custody, Department of Correction staff, Commissioner Stanley Richards, and Councilmember Yusef Salaam. It was a night that will stay with me for quite some time. People sharing what little they have: breaking bread, offering prayer, making space for one another’s dignity even in the hardest place. In a system too often defined by what it takes, I was reminded of what it means to give—mercy, dignity, and humanity. May we extend that mercy as far as we can. Eid Mubarak to all.

MAGA Republicans want to make it harder to vote than to buy an AR-15. They want Americans’ information run through an algorithm designed by Musk and DOGE that could kick eligible voters off the rolls. They want to turn voter registration into a bureaucratic nightmare and limit how people can register. That’s the SAVE Act, and that's why Democrats will fight it until the end.
