I've published my first Medium article on molecular docking using open-source tools in a Python-centric approach. Docking is a key method in drug discovery and bioinformatics for identifying molecules that bind to proteins. @snsrap/molecular-docking-unlocking-the-perfect-fit-f2026c6aa610" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">medium.com/@snsrap/molecu…

@everestchris6 Wasn’t there a French startup a few years ago that used computer vision for pool detection to identify tax evaders and report them to the French authorities?

this OpenClaw bot finds $500k–$1.2M homes without pools, renders a pool into their backyard, and mails the owner a postcard showing the before/after, on autopilot... here's how pool builders can close $50k+ deals with this system: - scans satellite imagery for mid-market homes with empty backyards - filters by lot size, sun exposure & recent ownership change - pulls the homeowner direct from public records (not shared leads) - renders a luxury pool dropped into their actual yard - calculates build cost + home value lift for their specific zip - generates a cinematic video of their backyard with the new pool - prints a personalised postcard with the before/after + QR code - drops it in the mail + hits them with retargeting every step from sourcing to outreach is automated. reply "POOL" + RT and i'll send you the full breakdown so you can build this too (must be following so i can DM)

Let me get this straight. You’ve been in power for ten years. You’ve doubled the debt. You’ve weakened the economy. And now, your answer is to trap young Canadians? On stage, the Liberal Party of Canada brings out Patrick Pichette, a former senior executive at Google, who now lives in Europe, to suggest that Canadians who want to pursue opportunities in the United States should face an exit tax of $500,000. Half a million dollars to leave your own country. This, from someone who once left Canada himself to build a career in the U.S. and paid virtually nothing to do so. So let’s be honest about what this is. It is not economic policy. It is not nation building. It is control. A government that has mismanaged the economy now wants to limit your ability to seek opportunity elsewhere. Instead of creating reasons to stay, they are looking for ways to make it harder to leave. You do not grow a country by locking people in. You grow it by giving them a reason to believe in it.

Absolutely terrifying article in The Economist this week about the new multicultural creole dialect emerging in Toronto called “Toronto Mans” “Much of Toronto Mans is borrowed from the languages of immigrants: from Jamaican patois comes “ah lie” (meaning “right?”) and “two-twos” (“being honest”); from Somali there is “kawal” (to “scam”) and from Arabic “wallahi” (an exclamation, “by Allah”). The roots of others like “crodie” (meaning “brother”) and “gerbert” (meaning “immature”) may well be local.”

This conference has to be broken into smaller conferences. Let's face it that NeurIPS as is struggles with organizing this massive event every year. It's better to break it into smaller conferences organized by different parties in various countries. This enables everyone to enjoy the conference staying away from one hostile country or bad player that hosts and exerts control over it.

We want to speak directly to the concern many of you have expressed, and we owe you a clear explanation of what happened, why it happened, and where we stand now. We understand this situation caused genuine alarm and we take that seriously. In preparing the NeurIPS 2026 handbook, we included a link to a US government sanctions tool that covers a significantly broader set of restrictions than those NeurIPS is actually required to follow. This error was due to miscommunication between the NeurIPS Foundation and our legal team; there was never an intention to restrict participation beyond our mandatory compliance obligations. The responsibility for that error is ours as an organization, and we deeply apologize for the alarm and impact this miscommunication had on our community. We have updated the link and clarified the text of our policy, which is consistent with that of ACM and IEEE, as well as other international conferences and NeurIPS in the past. As in previous years, NeurIPS welcomes submissions from all compliant institutions and individuals. We want to reiterate that NeurIPS is a community-driven event, created by and for the community, and strives to be inclusive. The NeurIPS 2026 organizing committee was particularly saddened to learn of this institutional miscommunication. The organizing committee has taken on the responsibility of running the conference this year with the goal of fostering open communication, knowledge sharing, and global scientific discourse. We thank the community for bringing this issue to our attention and working with us through this situation.

Someone is selling a manor estate in Burgundy with a private river, waterfalls and a natural swimming pond. 2 hours from Paris. Two buildings arranged around a courtyard, 1,700m² (18,298 sq ft) in total, 12 bedrooms, an artist's studio, stables and 7 hectares (17 acres) of land. Inside there's a music room with a piano, a library in the tower, a writing room, and a dining room built around a fireplace large enough to roast a whole animal. Herons and wild ducks live on the property year round. The river has a depth of 3 metres and you can swim in it all summer. Near Vézelay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Asking price: €1.39M ($1.6M). The French sure do know about living well. A river on your grounds, your own land to walk, swimming in summer, dinner outside. What's the French word for this kind of life?

I don’t understand how these points relate to one another. Personally, I believe shorter access to Canadian citizenship is the only advantage Canada has over many other destinations. Increase that and people will move to Europe or Australia instead of tolerating the Canadian cold. It’s important to understand that Canada relies on and is partially operated by immigrants who choose it because they feel it’s a better, safer, and more stable destination than other countries. Unfortunately, all of these advantages are vanishing with the increasing cost of living. Personally, I’d like to leave as soon as possible.

3 things most Canadians should be able to agree on: 1. The pre-meditated murderer of Montreal depanneur owner Chong Woo Kim, previously murdered a mother of two, and stabbed a bystander 7 times..once charged with murder, was able to plea down to manslaughter and serve only 7 years. The parole board during his incarceration stated he was highly likely to commit more violent crime as he was a menace in prison and had a long violent history. This is not an isolated case. Pleading to lesser charges and serving little time in prison is standard in Canada. 2. Wait time to see doctors including every type of specialist are among the longest in the western world . These are Fraser Institute numbers : Average wait times by specialist in Canada: Family Dr. 28 weeks, Neurosurgery: 49.9 weeks Orthopaedic Surgery: 48.6 weeks Otolaryngology: 43.8 weeks Plastic Surgery: 41.5 weeks Gynaecology: 40.6 weeks General Surgery: 31.8 weeks Ophthalmology: 20.8 weeks Urology: 25.7 weeks Cardiovascular Surgery (Elective): 19.6 weeks Internal Medicine: 21.2 weeks 3. What is the rush to issue a Canadian passport to newcomers to Canada? This is one of the most valuable assets in the world and should be earned and highly conditional. Most become permanent residents the day they arrive. The path to Canadian citizenship 3 years later is virtually guaranteed. That system is flawed.
