@bittercling @Apologetics941 Saint Athanasius famously taught that "God became man so that man might become God” Psalms 82 - “ye are gods”

@teneb888 @Apologetics941 Smith said the Father was once "a man like us" on "an earth," contradicting the Bible. Ps 90 : 2 Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God Is 43 : 10 Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me

Mormons: "You have to read the book of Mormon and then pray about it to know if it's true." Yeah i'll read it but i'm definitely not going to pray about it because it demonstrates it's not true. According to Moroni chapter 8 verse 18 God is not a changeable being. God is "unchangeable from all eternity to all eternity". That's pretty hardcore there's eternities in there just to make a point. The Mormon God is really really God because he's been unchangeable since eternity eternity lol. So if God has been unchangeable since eternity eternity how exactly was he a man?

Population models suggest that between 60b on the low a d as 120b on the high end since Adam. Historically there as on my been 3-4b Christians that have ever lived ( therefore eligible to be saved) Ask a Christian why a loving god woud damn 93-97% of his creation

@emuse1955 So after joseph smith falls from the window after being shot several times - clearly dead and the mob drags him to the well and shoots him 20 more times- that clearly wasn’t a lynching - seriously dishonest AF

@emuse1955 “Lynching” is the extrajudicial execution of an individual by a group or mob of three or more people. Carried out without legal authority or due process, victims were killed under the pretext of administering justice Exactly what happened with joseph and hyrum smith

@farmingandJesus Such a silly argument Lizzie. All of joseph smith work points to a living Christ who continues to revealed through living oracles. And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of sins

“By their fruit you will know them”is the Mormon’s favorite verse. Too bad they didn’t apply it to Joseph Smith—the guy who took their wives, money, and souls.

@Theologicalish1 @StandAndKnox The hypocrisy of that statement is outstanding. You think the mob killed joseph smith because he allegedly trashed a newspaper? And the punishment is death? HE WAS MURDERED FOR THIS FAITH-that is martyrdom plain and simple

@jonathanplumb Read the definition of a lyncing “Lynching is the extrajudicial execution of an individual by a mob without a fair trial or legal authority” When you have over 100 men w guns and painted faces show up at jail for the intent to execute joseph - this was a lyching plain and simple

Ugh. It is an undeniable historical fact that Joseph Smith died in a shootout. Why do some want to pretend this didn’t happen? Joseph Smith died in jail. This is true. But Joseph had a 6-barrel pistol and fired three shots out the door. The other three misfired. Smith dropped the pistol and went and looked out the window for any way to escape. This is when he was shot multiple times, then falling out the window to his death. This fits the most narrow definition of a “shootout.” And there’s nothing to be ashamed of with it. It doesn’t make Joseph Smith any less of a martyr. He didn’t seek them out (he couldn’t…he was in jail!). But the history is undeniable. This is the account given by John Taylor, who witnessed the event himself. Can we move on now?
Thoughtful-Faith@ThoughtfulSaint

Saying its an "Undeniable Historical Fact" that Joseph Smith "died in a shootout" is just why unbiased people wont take @emuse1955 seriously. Like we know from the first hand witnesses what happened... and calling this a "shootout" just shows how far you are willing to go to push your own bias in your analysis of history. youtu.be/hX2hmIKl1MY?si…

I’m 100% convinced that the majority of Mormons have not read the Bible. I’d say, based on the Mormons I’ve spoke with, only 10% have read a large portion of it or cover to cover. This is what keeps the Mormon church alive.

"Mormons are so kind and decent. How could you say Mormonism is satanic?" "If Satan took over a city, all of the bars would be closed, pornography banished, and pristine streets would be filled with tidy pedestrians who smiled at each other. There would be no swearing. The children would say "Yes, sir" and "No, ma'am," and the churches would be full every Sunday...where Christ was not preached.” — Donald Grey Barnhouse
