🚨🇺🇸 🇮🇷 The Pentagon just asked GM and Ford to start making weapons. The last time that happened was World War II... Senior defense officials sat down with Mary Barra and Jim Farley to discuss shifting factory capacity toward munitions and military equipment. GE Aerospace and Oshkosh are also in talks. The Pentagon framed it as a matter of national security. The Iran war burned through Tomahawks at nine times the annual procurement rate. Fired every PrSM in the inventory. Depleted Patriot interceptors across the region. The defense industrial base built for peacetime deterrence couldn't keep up with six weeks of actual war. During World War II, Detroit stopped making cars and started making bombers. During COVID, GM and Ford made ventilators. Now the Pentagon wants to know if they can make missiles. The $1.5 trillion defense budget request, the largest in modern history, calls for major investment in munitions and drone manufacturing. But traditional contractors can't scale fast enough. The Pentagon needs commercial partners who know how to run assembly lines at volume. Trump says the war is "very close to over." The Pentagon is already asking car companies to tool up for the next one. Source: WSJ

🇮🇷🇺🇸 Iran's Supreme Leader's military adviser just threatened to sink American ships and take thousands of hostages... Brigadier General Rezae also says he's "completely against extending the ceasefire". He frames it as a "personal opinion," but personal opinions from military advisors to the Supreme Leader don't get shared publicly by accident. This is the IRGC hardliners making their position known while the diplomats negotiate behind the scenes. That's the tension at the heart of Iran's decision-making: the diplomats want a deal, the generals want revenge, and whoever wins that internal battle determines whether the ceasefire survives the week. Mark Zuckerberg is reportedly developing an AI clone of himself that can join meetings, answer questions, and communicate in a way that reflects his voice, thought process, and leadership style. This could fundamentally change how leadership operates inside large organizations. Instead of being limited by time and physical presence, an AI clone could allow executives to participate in multiple discussions at once More than task automation, this represents the automation of presence itself where AI can carry a person’s ideas

📊 TSLA 60-min (2010–2026) Simple long-only Donchian Channel + trailing stop. No regime filters. No optimization tricks. $0.005/share commission baked in. 16 years on one of the most volatile and heavily traded stocks in the market… and this basic breakout structure still held up. The equity curve says it all.

Cyclone Vaianu has the potential to be a significant and damaging event. This is what you need to know. Impacts will begin in the Far North this afternoon, spreading down the North Island and upper South Island overnight and through tomorrow. Expect damaging winds, heavy rain, flooding, landslides and coastal inundation. Power outages, road closures and isolated communities are likely too. There is still time to prepare. So secure anything that strong winds could lift. Clear gutters and drains. Remove loose debris. Prepare for power cuts and make a plan in case you need to evacuate. Check on neighbours who may need support as well. During the storm, stay inside. Do not drive unless it’s absolutely necessary. And please do not walk, swim or drive through floodwater. If you see rising water or signs of a landslide, do not wait for official warnings. Trust your instincts and move to safety immediately. You can keep up to date with the latest watches and warnings from MetService and follow the advice of Civil Defence and emergency services. Above everything, please put safety first.

there's a new concept I'm seeing emerging in AI Agents (especially coding agents), which I'll call "harness engineering" - applying context engineering principles to how you use an existing agent Context engineering -> how context (long or short, agentic or not) is passed to an LLM to get the best results You do context engineering when you prompt an llm, and you do a LOT of context engineering when you design a coding agent harness But there's another layer on top of the core tool-calling orchestration and agentic RAG that happens in the agent. For claude code, it's the commands, hooks, skills, agents, mcps, etc that a consumer of the tool plugs into the existing harness. Harness engineering -> How do you engineer the *integration points* of a given agent to get the best results? You can't do harness engineering without understanding context engineering, and you can't do context engineering without building intuition around LLMs

@unusual_whales Absolute bullshit, this is nonsense - I’m sure it’s a good model, but why not do a live stream of a coding session with this model @bcherny and show us all how scary good it is? No hate here but this bumrush of fear has been overblown on every release

I'm too old to know what a "torrent" is, so I use the 'intitle:"index.of"' trick to find all my media. You break into all sorts of abandoned web pages, ftp sites, etc. It's like the "Morrowind" of file sharing.

Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi has been given $300,000 for climate change research and education. Lets put this money into human terms. A builder working 40 hours a week at $30 an hour earns $62,400 a year before tax. After PAYE, ACC, and GST on what he spends, he generates about $18,559 a year for the government. That means it would take more than 16 years of his tax contribution to pay for this one grant. Think about that. More than 16 years of a man getting up early, working in the cold, the rain, and the wind, using his hands to create something real. If you looked him in the eye, would you tell him this is an acceptable use of his money? Because government money is not free. It is the product of somebody else’s labour.

This is big... Anthropic just announced a model so powerful they won't release it to the public out of fear over the damage it will cause 😨 Claude Mythos Preview found thousands of zero-day exploits in every major operating system and web browser... The numbers are hard to believe: > $50 to find a 27-year-old bug in OpenBSD, one of the most security-hardened operating systems ever built > Under $1,000 to find AND build a fully working remote code execution exploit on FreeBSD that grants unauthenticated root access from anywhere on the internet > Under $2,000 to chain together multiple Linux kernel vulnerabilities into a complete privilege escalation exploit For context: these are the kinds of findings that previously required elite security researchers working for weeks. Anthropic engineers with no formal security training asked Mythos to find exploits overnight. They woke up to working code the next morning. The results were so impressive Anthropic assembled Apple, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, NVIDIA, and seven other organizations into Project Glasswing: A $100M defensive coalition. They're not releasing this model publicly. Instead, they're racing to patch the world's infrastructure before models like this proliferate.

Introducing Project Glasswing: an urgent initiative to help secure the world’s most critical software. It’s powered by our newest frontier model, Claude Mythos Preview, which can find software vulnerabilities better than all but the most skilled humans. anthropic.com/glasswing

Seems that @Raentrading and sleazeball have decided to publish my live desk trading record. That’s lovely because now we can talk about it. Performance is absolutely consistent with the “institutional” 🙄🙄🙄 platform. I passed both assessments using a challenging but functional platform. Then was sent to the live desk to use an absolutely garbage platform and struggled. No surprise there
