@butikunnon Nearly every American on X has a mental illness.

@miyo178961 @MaryBowdenMD @nickolide Yes she's an anti-vaxxer. She makes money off of COVID-19 conspiracy theories.
English

@MaryBowdenMD @nickolide Well they're right. mRNA is revolutionary technology with enormous potential to save lives and even cure cancer - demonstrably so, given recent events.
English

@nickolide I was blocked by one of the Japanese accounts yesterday based on my criticism of mRNA.
English

@TexasChance I have severe trust issues after Covid.

@TokyoTom2020 No, the.order comes from a homogeneous society. It has nothing to do with gun control or healthcare, you fucking idiot

@ThisIsNotTea @WatcherontheWeb Japan is one of the most collectivist societies on Earth though. What rugged individualism are you referring to? Their online personalities?
English

I would contend that it's because the cultures share an ideal and shared sense of respect of nature and the frontier.
We were the first nation to prioritize National Parks because of our deep appreciation for natural beauty, a core Tennent of Shinto.
Rugged individualism is also a feature of both cultures that European powers have long sense abandoned for metro centers.
The cowboys and Samurais pair together because they both believe that one man CAN change the world.
English

Dear new Japanese friends...
May I beg an explanation of something of you? I'm sure the answer is different for everyone... but... WHY do you like us?
Many places we have gone to war with, and even some of the ones we have gone to war to save... seem to hate us
But our nations engaged in some of what is arguably the most horrific warfare in human history to that date, and it's not like you got space away from us or our culture afterwards to gain peace over it
why don't you hate us like the Germans do? Or the french? or on most days, half of the British?
I'm VERY happy about it, and grateful, but I have always wondered what the difference is
I know much of it for us is "We had a problem, we settled it, now there's not a problem"... kind of the "2 dudes fight on the playground and end up best friends" thing

@ScreechyTurnip @copticmillenial @tanomuzeA Drop the obsession with "the West". The Muslim religion cannot integrate with anything that is not Muslim, "West" or not.
English

@copticmillenial @tanomuzeA Exactly this. The Muslim religion simply cannot integrate with Western values because it's diametrically opposed to answering the West stands for. They never come to integrate but to conquer. It's built into their religion.
English

@tanomuzeA X is a right-wing website so you will receive feedback listing many more disadvantages than advantages.
English

@tacowasa2nd X in the English-speaking world is a right-wing website along with 4chan.
Left-wing people are on Bluesky and Reddit.
English

@martytaka777 Sounds like you're reflecting the Japanese mindset that manifests in xenophobia.
English

@Whatscookinginj @signulll What exactly does that mean, though?
English

@signulll It is frequently discussed in Japanese X that American conformity of machoism is far more oppressing that Japanese. I tend to disagree but that's a way to look at it.
English

japan is a fascinating experiment of a society that simultaneously has some of the most ridiculously extreme public decorum norms on earth & some of the most interesting anon content along with it.
they may have optimized so hard for social conformity & reduced coexistence friction that they inadvertently built a culture where the authentic self has nowhere to go except underground.
perhaps not having kids is prolly another form of this too.
English

@Segah02457547 Well... X is much larger in Japan than in other parts of the world, so it probably won't be much of a story anywhere else.
English

@WARE_bluefield The IQ of the average English-speaking user is approximately one standard deviation less than the average Japanese-speaking user.

@CoreyWriting I mean... it's a halo effect thing, if we're being honest.
English

I don't think this is really true. Indian Americans are successful and commit zero crime, but there's a huge backlash against them.
There is a significant contingent of Americans that simply don't want the country to become less white.
vittorio@IterIntellectus
one thing is certain everyone would be pro immigration if all immigrants were Japanese

@rajiinio You are clearly unaware of the advances made since December 2025.
English

Fired for what, exactly? For being transparent about my workflow?
You're a smart guy, David. You know perfectly well that your colleagues use these tools, and that nobody will fire me.
So what does this accomplish besides virtue signaling to people who privately do the same?

David Austin Walsh@DavidAstinWalsh
People like this should be fired.
