Im not sure why the regime in Iran agreed to this ceasefire. Their best bet was to negotiate a permanent mother of all deals WHILE keeping the strait closed and forcing a global energy crisis. That was their golden card. Now there is a two weeks period for Arab countries to ship out their energy supplies and for the rest of the world to restock their reserves, effectively reseting the past 40 days of hard work. The only plausible explanation I can think of is that things are REALLY dire internally to the point they had to step away from their golden plan. It is also possible that America gave something of great value back in return for these 14 days that we are not aware of. And no, the strait “fee” they’re talking about is worthless, it doesn’t justify IR taking this huge step backward and undoing over a month’s of hard work.
