It's a pretty damning indictment of the Catholic apologetics and debate bro industry that after over two decades of effort online, basically no-one outside of their circles understands what papal infallibility or dogma are and how they actually work.

Pope Leo XIV has notably revived the use of the papal mozzetta, which Pope Francis had discarded during his papacy. The mozzetta is perhaps one of the more traditional clerical vestments worn by the pontiff. But what is its history and symbolism? ewtnnews.com/vatican/the-pa…

The 2nd Vatican Council echoes St. Augustine of Hippo in recognizing sacraments, faith, orthodoxy, ascetic intention, and all that is good (and not contrary to God). However, Augustine did not believe any of these things could actually profit them because he was adamant that schismatics could not possess "charity," which binds the soul to the interior life of the Church and, therefore, to God. If you take that assumption away, even in the slightest, you go from one ring away to the eye of the target of Lumen Gentium.
