I don’t understand this “billionaires shouldn’t exist” nonsense. So should $999m exist? Or 500m - should that exist? Let’s say I buy a Picasso at a garage sale for $10. Turns out it’s worth $1b! Should we cut the painting so it’s worth less than $1b? Logistically, it doesn’t make sense to me.

@davegerhardt New brand looks great! Just a heads up though. Seems that anything you moved to the media subdomain hasn’t been 301 redirected. So your podcast pages + every episode page is 404’ing from Google search. (Couldn’t DM you, I’m not premium).

This Week Building Exit Five (Bootstrapping a B2B Media Company): 1) We debuted new branding - new logo, new colors, new font, new design, website, etc. We worked with this great company called NoBoringDesign run by @eli_rubel and it came out awesome. The response from our community was very positively positive. Out of all the comments and email replies the best were the handful that said something along the lines of "this brings the business to life in a new way" and "this really feels like Exit Five grew up in a good way." A few people didn't like it and that's OK too. 2) We announced the details of our in-person event - it's called Drive. September 11 - 12 in Burlington, Vermont. Tickets go on sale next week. The event will be small on purpose so we only have 150 tickets available. There's already 216 people on our waiting list, so if you want to be there go to exitfive . com / event and put your name on the list; we'll notify you ASAP when tickets go on sale. 3) I recorded a bunch of new episodes of the Exit Five podcast. This week with @RetentionAdam (talking about LinkedIn and founder brand), @jenns_trends (covering Instagram for B2B), Matt and I recorded Inside Exit Five for this week, and I'm talking to @AmandaMGoetz later today. 4) We finalized the concept for a new Exit Five community product. This will be focused on B2B Marketing Leaders on Monday morning (a smaller group that will be application only for Directors, VPs in B2B). You'll hear more about this in June. 5) The CEO of a big successful company reached out to me directly to try and recruit me to work for his company; flattering. But his pitch was to poo poo on my "little bootstrapped thing" to go work on something "much bigger and more meaningful." I am all set for now. I'm having fun here. 6) I played some golf, did a bunch of push-ups, and coached my son's Tee Ball team. I have so much I could write about that experience and what it's taught me about B2B sales, but I'll save that for later (just kidding; if you've seen the meme you'll laugh, if not you'll think I'm serious and I'll never write something like that I promise).

In the past two weeks we have: • Closed $50k in sponsorship revenue • Created an additional $50k in pipeline • Started work on our first in-person event (named it, built the speaker list, run of show, venue, budget) • Finalized new logo and branding • Developed a growth plan for the 2nd half of the year • Created a plan to re-organize and improve our community • Onboarded a new contractor • All while continuing to create content for our community, newsletter, and podcast • We have no office • We had one "team" meeting this week • We are prioritizing time with family, kids, mental health daily We're on track to grow the business 90% year over year, and we should be in a position to bring on more teammates as we start planning for 2025 and building @exitfivemedia.

I think the average family needs to make at least $375k/year just to scrape by on basic expenses. After adding up rent, transportation, food, insurance, utilities, and everything else it’s hard to spend less than $30k/mo. That doesn’t even include the cost of daycare!

My wife and I bought this journal as a gift to ourselves for our first wedding anniversary last year. The gift is: each anniversary we journal: - Reflections from the past year. - Key events that occurred. - What we did on our anniversary to celebrate. - And what we're looking forward to in our next year of marriage. Only two years in but we're already loving this exercise. It was fun to read last year's entry and reflect on the year we've had together (good and bad). This journal sits in our safe the other 364 days of the year.

Hey @ShopifyDevs could you please change the criteria for who can review an app? We have users who can't review our app but they installed it and are using it but they can't review it? Seems like weird. Run into this a few times where users want to write us a review but can't.
